'Love and Hip Hop New York': If Safaree could cheat on Nicki Minaj then what about Erica? Fans get furious as couple drops prenup
This week's episode of 'Love and Hip Hop New York' was explosive. There were multiple storylines playing out, with some even getting out of hand.
Erica Mena and Safaree's marriage is in three weeks but the couple isn't ready yet. For any relationship/ marriage to thrive, both partners need to trust one another. But in this case, there's insecurity, an uncertainty that seems to be working against the pair. Previously, Erica sprang the prenup news on Safaree and the latter was completely taken aback by it. And he has taken his own time to process all of it.
Even though Safaree could be right in feeling hurt (simply because the idea of having a prenup drawn up hints at trust issues), fans feel Erica is correct in standing her ground. She needs to feel protected and safe.
Erica and Safaree had been engaged for six months when the latter decided to text an ex-girlfriend that he had no intention of marrying his fiancee. The former lover took screengrabs of their conversation and put it up on social media, which put off Erica so much so that she replied using a video in which she is seen walking over shards of glass and a bunch of roses (that came from Safaree presumably) strewn on the floor.
Later, Safaree apologized to her on Twitter but it took quite an amount of convincing to get Erica back with him. "I am sorry for any embarrassment I have brought to you from me being immature. I apologize from the depths of my soul & heart. You are the most important person to me in the world. I know this is a joke to some ppl but this is real life and I made a mistake. I’m sorry," he had written.
Currently, Safaree is finding it tough to come to terms with the prenup episode. Talking to Papoose, he acknowledges that there have been mistakes, slip-ups on his part but she also needs to realize that he's a changed man now. Papoose suggested that even though the wounds are in the past it's on Safaree to patch them up. He pointed out that if he has nothing hide or to worry about then signing the prenup is a good idea.
Later the two have a healthy discussion over dinner, during which Safaree confessed his love for her and that he'd do things that would make her happy, adding that he's ready to sign the prenup. Meanwhile, Erica was already unsure about getting Safaree to be a part of the prenup simply because she was made to feel terrible by Tahiry Jose about having brought it up suddenly. She dropped the idea of a prenup, which led to Safaree breaking into a song.
Even though the couple seems to be sorted now, viewers aren't buying it. There's a section of people who think Safaree can never be trusted and that Erica was being naive in believing in him again. Some even warn her that if he cheated with Nicki Minaj, Erica is not going to be an exception.
"Safaree cheated on Nicki Minaj who’s rich as shit and he was her Day 1. Erica think she’s gonna be different? #LHHNY," a user wrote. While another tweeted: "Safaree was cheating on Nicki and she was the breadwinner. Why does Erica think he is a changed man?? #LHHNY."
