'Love After Lockup' is set to intensify, promises Lacey Whitlow as she teases more drama in the season finale. In an interview with MEAWW, the reality TV star addressed ex-lover John Slater's arrest. Over the past few months, we have heard and read different versions of the night that saw John at his worst.
The former couple were enjoying a night out. They had been to a few strip clubs when John decided to do some drugs, which Lacey was dead against. And that was the long and short of how their relationship crumbled to dust. Lacey didn't want anything to do with a man who chose heroin over her.

"We were hitting up the strip club, we went to our last strip club and they were about to close so it was really, really late and you know, he wanted to go get heroin and I wasn't down for that. I didn't want to go do that, he had to be at the recovery house the next morning," she told John and hours later he got caught drinking and driving.
"He doesn't even remember anything that happened. He called me from jail the next day, you know, asking what happened. He didn't even remember what happened. All he remembers was being at the strip club," Lacey added. That was a tragic end of a relationship that showed so much promise when they first met in high school. But Lacey has moved and is looking forward to raising her baby with husband Shane Whitlow.
How is John processing Lacey's exit? He appeared devastated in his confessional while admitting that every time he split with her, there were grave after-effects. He would spiral and get back to doing drugs and consuming alcohol. John feared this time too it will be the same. Even though Lacey has closed the door to the past, she said she was still "human" and that it felt terrible when John confessed his feelings about the breakup. "I mean it made me feel like you know, I wanted to be there for him but I also feel like, you know, going away and being away from him is probably like the best thing for him so he can just focus on himself and do what's right for him.
Now that Lacey has set the record straight, let's hope this topic is settled once and for all and John gets a clear picture of what happened the night of the arrest.
