22-year-old Kassidy Rodrigue was arrested and charged with second-degree cruelty to a juvenile and child desertion after her infant tested positive for marijuana
A Louisiana mother was arrested and is facing child cruelty charges after she admitted to smoking marijuana before breastfeeding her child. Sheriff Leland Falcon of the Assumption Parish Sherrif's Office announced the arrest of 22-year-old Kassidy Rodrigue, of Pierre Part, following a medical complaint relating to a child having seizures.
According to a press release from the sheriff's office, deputies responded to Rodrigue's residence at 119 Randy Street on Sunday, January 20, to complaints of an ill child. A short time later, detectives were notified by an area hospital that the infant had tested positive for tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the principal psychoactive constituent of cannabis.
