It is a glimmer of hope for President Donald Trump. On September 9, Christian Tybring-Gjedde, a member of the Norwegian Parliament, nominated Trump for the 2021 Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts toward resolving conflicts worldwide, specifically in the Middle East. The report was shared on Twitter by Lou Dobbs who hosts ‘Lou Dobbs Tonight’ on Fox channel.

Later, a chunk from his show was posted on Twitter on September 9, where Dobbs is seen praising the president. He said, “President Trump today had a great day. A day that any president could only dream of. President Trump started off the day with a nomination for the Nobel Peace Prize. That nomination comes weeks after President Trump brokered a historic peace deal between Israel and the United Arab Emirates."

He added, "It’s an achievement that has eluded every president and every administration since the founding of Israel in 1948, and a member of Norway’s parliament submitted the nomination and praised President for his efforts to resolve conflicts worldwide." A user retweeted the video with the caption: "President Trump today had a great day. A day that any president could only dream of."

This came in the backdrop of Christian Tybring-Gjedde praising Trump and nominating him. "For his merit, I think he has done more trying to create peace between nations than most other Peace Prize nominees."

Tybring-Gjedde, in his nomination letter to the Nobel Committee, said the Trump regime has played a crucial role in restoring relations between Israel and the UAE. "As it is expected other Middle Eastern countries will follow in the footsteps of the UAE, this agreement could be a game-changer that will turn the Middle East into a region of cooperation and prosperity," he wrote. Lou Dobbs tweeted on this, "Congratulations Mr President! Trump nominated for Nobel Peace Prize by Norwegian official, citing Israel-UAE peace deal #MAGA ⁦@realDonaldTrump⁩ #AmericaFirst."

Tybring-Gjedde, further, lauded Trump for withdrawing a large number of troops from the Middle East. "Indeed, Trump has broken a 39-year-old streak of American Presidents either starting a war or bringing the United States into an international armed conflict. The last president to avoid doing so was Peace Prize laureate Jimmy Carter," he wrote.

After this nomination dropped and Lou Dobbs took to twitter to share his elation, many users on social media were enraged over him supporting Trump. They slammed the Fox show host for praising Trump at a time when the pandemic has ravaged the country and the economy is sliding down. Many believe his opinion of Trump shape anti-immigrant hatred in the mind of viewers.

Furthermore, Dobbs' praises came as Trump is being lambasted over the newly released audio where he told journalist Bob Woodward in February that Covid-19 was airborne and deadly and allegedly "played it down" publicly, according to Woodward's new book 'Rage'.

One user said, "The point is Dobbs is saying it is a great day for Trump. Meanwhile, tapes have come out that Trump knew how deadly Covid-19 was. 'Trump told Woodward, adding that the coronavirus was maybe five times 'more deadly' than the flu.' He then downplayed it."

An infuriated user tweeted, “Lou Dobbs Calls It A Great Day For Trump After President Confesses To Possible Negligent Homicide.”

Some felt the host incited anti-immigrant hatred. “Lou Dobbs poisoned my elderly father’s mind in his last few years of life. A man who taught his 6 kids to welcome strangers and delight in diversity joined the anti-immigrant hate movement. That's just one of the reasons I f**king hate Fox."

A user wrote, “Do shills like Lou Dobbs and Sean Hannity know they’re going to be sh*t stains on the pages of history or do they believe things are going to somehow turn out differently?”

Some felt he is a devoted fan of Trump. "Reality show pitch: you are locked in a room with Lou Dobbs and in order to get out you have to convince him that President Trump did one thing wrong, lied, was responsible for a stock market decline, or had an overall bad day."

Others commented on the economy, "He literally wanted us to die for the economy. Remember Lou Dobbs and other nuts saying you should be willing to die for the economy?"

A user wrote on Woodward's book, "I am going for Woodward's book, Rage, which has Trump on Tape saying he knew the seriousness of the virus a long time ago. Lou Dobbs is a Trump puppet."

Some came in support of Dobbs and felt he has not said anything anti-immigrant. "I'm old and Lou Dobbs hasn't said anything that has poisoned my mind. Is this the same Lou Dobbs you refer to? You 'hate' Fox. I suppose you would."
