Lakers vs Nuggets: Jamal Murray played 'just like Michael Jordan', earns fans' respect despite team's loss

Jamal Murray is unstoppable no matter the odds, and unfortunately, his efforts went in vain as the Nuggets went down to the Lakers on Thursday, September 24. With a close 114-108 win, the Lakers are now 3-1 in the Western Conference final series. There were instances when watching Murray was like watching Michael Jordan with those acrobatic finishes. He finished the day with 32 points, eight assists, and 3 rebounds. Such was his performance that fans from both camps just stood up and applauded the Nuggets man.
For some fans, it was a righteous game and hoped for good things for Murray. "Jamal Murray just became a star. Hopefully next year he starts getting calls he earned. Great game," wrote one of the fans after the game. There were scores of fans who compared the player to Jordan with one even showing them play side by side.

For one of the fans, LeBron James' thoughts on Murray was a compliment. "This is quite a compliment. #jamalmurray IS so fun to watch. Love the @nuggets and they've added to the allure and enjoyment of the Bubble,: read one of the comments on Twitter. Even though Murray might be looking for a longer stint with the Nuggets, fans were sure he would get called by one of the top-seeded teams. "After this playoffs Jamal Murray in never going to be traded. Seeing him on any of those 3 teams but especially the Lakers and Warriors is a guaranteed ring," one of the fans wrote.

For the Lakers, it was another show by LeBron James and Anthony Davis. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Rajon Rondo's assistance just bolstered them further. While Murray went red-hot in the game, Nikola Jokic after an impressive start was later bogged down by foul trouble that saw him miss a good portion of the fourth quarter. He ended the evening with 16 PTS, 7 REB, 4 AST, 2 STL while Jerami Grant scored 17 points as well. For the Lakers, AD stacked up 34 PTS, 5 REB, 3 AST, 3 STL while LeBron had 26 PTS, 9 REB, and 8 AST to his tally.
There was also a comparison to the Houston Rockets star, James Harden known for his attacking prowess. "I feel more scared when Jamal Murray shoots the ball then when James Harden shoots," a fan tweeted after watching Murray pull off astonishing dunks.
Bad referee calls had its share in the game and some felt it dampened Murray's brilliance. "Agreed, it was so blatant and embarrassing to watch, the @NBA is ruining its own product, @BeMore27 is legit and the whole Nuggets squad deserves to not have the referees interfere so damn much," a fan exclaimed.

However, it's not over for the Nuggets just yet. Last time they were trailing 3-1 against the Los Angeles Clippers, they stormed back in style. Is there a fairytale ending on the cards? Guess we'll know when the two teams meet for Game 5 on September 26.
