The detective said on Wednesday, May 3, as stated by DailyMail, that Alex searched for bullet drop data from 100 yards, 200 yards, and 300 yards, how to use an AR-15 in cold weather, and ways to shoot a victim inside a vehicle. He also looked for a YouTube video for firing the rifle at -30 degrees. He visited the Fremont County Sportsman’s Club, a shooting range, on October 7, 9, 12, 13, and 15. Details of Tammy Daybell's death
On October 19, 2019, Chad reported that his 49-year-old wife Tammy, a school librarian, went to bed with a cough and died in her sleep, as per Oxygen. The death occurred ten days after an attacker pointed a gun at her, reports DailyMail. Jurors heard earlier how Alex visited a local store and bought a ski mask and fingerless gloves. Detective Vince said that an AR-15, that was seized from Lori's garage resembled a paintball gun because of its scope which could be mistaken for the hopper that holds paintballs. "When Tammy Daybell called in the attempted shooting, she described the rifle as a paintball gun. After looking at all the firearms, this one stuck out because it has a larger scope on it which could be mistaken for a hopper, which Tammy described. A hopper is on a paintball gun," the detective said, as per DailyMail.
Two weeks after Tammy's death, Lori and Chad got married on November 5, 2019, in Hawaii. Authorities initially stated Tammy's cause of death as natural, but after developing suspicions, they conducted an autopsy in December 2019. While Cox died in December 2019, who shot and killed Lori's husband, Charles Vallow, in July 2019. He claimed self-defense, and police did not pursue the case at the time. Tara Martinez, a forensic scientist with the Idaho State Police, testified that fingerprints belonging to Alex were found on the plastic bag containing JJ‘s remains, reports New York Post. Forensics expert Joseph Scott Morgan also commented in the past, “For a long time, many of us had suspected that Alex did in fact have something to do, at least, with the hiding of these bodies. Whether or not he was actually the perpetrator, no one will ever know."
