While HBO Max's 'Looney Tunes Cartoons' has worked hard to keep the spirit of the original wackiness alive, there have been some prominent changes in the show. The new series has made several changes to the iconic characters, the most prominent being Granny. The whole idea behind the show was to revive the magic of the 1930s and 1940s and bring the franchise back to its wacky roots, which is something that the 'New Looney Tunes' show was severely missing.

These hand-drawn cartoons are less than a few minutes long and have been released in episodes that are typically packed with two full-length shorts, with a break of one- to two-minute shorts in between. While 10 of these episodes were available at launch, more will be released later as 80 episodes have been ordered. These 10 episodes showed that 'Looney Tunes Cartoons' adhered to the magic of the classics and kept the basic designs of characters, albeit with certain tweaks.

Bugs Bunny

The strangest change made to Bugs Bunny was that he now has yellow gloves, instead of white. This change was revealed back in March 2019. In the 1941 short, 'Elmer's Pet Rabbit', Bugs had worn yellow gloves. The gloves were never seen again. As the yellow gloves were part of his look in only one short, it's curious why the creators decided to give him yellow gloves again.

Elmer Fudd

Bugs Bunny's antagonist Elmer Fudd has slimmed down and now has a pink nose. Elmer is also not chasing Bugs with a gun anymore. Instead, he has a scythe now. However, everything else about his personality remains the same.

Granny

Let's not forget the kindly old lady who owns Sylvester and Tweety. While she was tall and thin in the series, some weight has been added to her face. Granny now rides a motorycle, beat that!

Sylvester

For some reason, best known to the creators, Sylvester now has yellow eyes and he isn't as lean as he was before. Also, in stark contrast, he has a huge red nose. Otherwise, he's the same and still utters his catchphrase, 'Suffering socotash!" and still, very much, chases Tweety around.

Fans are not pleased with the changes though. One wrote, "I'm personally not interested in the NEW Looney Tunes cartoons. the animation looks much different and I don't dig it and the voices just aren't the same, it feels strange to me so it's no big deal!" Another tweeted, "This Looney Tunes is for the snowflake generation."

Some reacted to Elmer and Yosemite Sam not having guns and said, "I swear, some people think firearm training comes out of a Looney Tunes cartoon..." Another wrote, "Learning a lot of disappointing things about my family during these troubled times. what really takes the cake is some of them are VERY upset about Elmer and Yosemite Sam losing their guns in Looney tunes. We're in a pandemic and you're worried about a cartoon? Grow up."
