'Lock him up!' Bob Menendez gets slammed after Sean Hannity shares report on corruption charges against senator
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: On Friday, September 22, New Jersey Senator Bob Menendez was indicted on charges of international corruption in connection with a years-long affair in which he allegedly accepted bribes and gold bars to help three businessmen and the country of Egypt.
Additionally, prosecutors have unveiled charges against a 69-year-old Democrat nearly six years after a previous criminal case against him resulted in a hung jury.
During a search of the couple's residence, authorities discovered $100,000 worth of gold bars and $480,000 in concealed cash.
Following this news, Fox News anchor Sean Hannity took to X to share more updates on Menendez and reflected on his previous bribes.
However, soon after Hannity’s tweet, the internet blasted Menendez and demanded to “lock him up if found guilty.”
Sean Hannity slams Bob Menendez on corruption charges
Fox News anchor Sean Hannity took to X (formerly Twitter) and wrote, “*DIRTY DEMS*.”
Hannity’s tweet also featured an article from its official website titled, “MENENDEZ BOTHERS! New Jersey Senator Charged With Corruption for Second Time [DETAILS].”
In the article, “According to The New York Post, from 2018 through 2022, Menendez provided “substantial military aid to Egypt” including handing over sensitive information from the US government and annual grants of over $1 billion in foreign military financing, the indictment claims.”
Moreover, Menendez allegedly attempted to intervene in federal investigations involving Uribe and Daibes in an effort to shield them from criminal charges.
One of his alleged actions included recommending an individual for the New Jersey US Attorney's office, the same office that prosecuted him starting in 2015.
Menendez believed that he could potentially influence this individual in the investigation of Daibes, as per the indictment.
Also, Menendez and his wife Nadine are facing charges related to accepting hundreds of thousands of dollars in bribes.
Notably, this is not the first time he has faced legal trouble as in 2019, he was in hot water for accepting gifts from a Florida eye surgeon.

Soon after Sean Hannity tweeted on New Jersey Senator Bob Menendez’s latest federal corruption charges, the internet took a brutal jab at the Dem as one person wrote, “If found guilty, lock him up. It's pretty simple. NOBODY is above the law period.”
