Liz Cheney's 'bogus' warning about Jim Jordan as Speaker sparks backlash after Morning Joe's report
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Former Representative Liz Cheney took the stage at the University of Minnesota, where she briefly spoke about Representative Jim Jordan’s potential speakership.
Cheney made some strong claims against Jordan and also said that she doesn’t believe he will actually become Speaker of the House.
Following Morning Joe’s report on the same, which was shared on YouTube and X, formerly known as Twitter, the internet disagreed with Cheney.
Cheney also mentioned the January 6 United States Capitol attack and Donald Trump in her speech, parts of which were shown by ‘Morning Joe’ during their segment.
‘Morning Joe’ shares part of Liz Cheney’s speech at University of Minnesota
‘Morning Joe’ shared a brief clip of Liz Cheney’s speech at the University of Minnesota.
Here, Cheney said, “Jim Jordan knew more about what Donald Trump had planned for January 6, than any other member of the House of Representatives."
“And if the Republicans decide that Jim Jordan should be the Speaker of the House, um…and by the way, I don’t think that’s going to happen, I think he will lose,” she added.
Cheney continued, “But if they were to decide that, there would no longer be any possible way to argue that a group of elected Republicans could be counted on to defend the Constitution.”
This part was shared by ‘Morning Joe’, however, in her entire speech, Cheney also alleged, “Jim Jordan was part of the conspiracy in which Donald Trump was engaged, as he attempted to overturn the election.”

Cheney added, “Somebody needs to ask Jim Jordan, why didn’t you report to the Capitol police when you knew what Donald Trump had planned. You were in those meetings at the White House.”
The internet has responded to Cheney’s claims against Jordan, however, after ‘Morning Joe’ hosts Mika Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough reported on said matter, Cheney faced some backlash online.
