Liverpool vs Ajax: How to live stream, time, venue, where to watch, who will win and all the pre-buzz around the Champions League clash
The UEFA Champions League has a string of heavy-weight matchups and one of them is Ajax vs Liverpool. The latter comes into this game with injury concerns with Virgil van Dijk suffering a horror injury against Everton. The match ended with a 2-2- result while Ajax handed rivals Heerenveen a major shellacking. A win for the Reds will be a massive boost as they face their next Champions League game. Here's a quick primer of ahead of the clash:
Time
Kick-off is slated for 3 pm ET on Wednesday, October 21, 2020.
Venue
Both teams will lock horns at the Johan Cruyff Arena.
Where to watch?
The game can be watched live on CBS All Access.
How to live stream
CBS has placed much emphasis on streaming and its streamer, CBS All Access comes as the platform to watch the Champions League. In addition to the games, the pre-match and post-match shows too can be watched wherever All-Access is available. Select games can be watched on fubo TV, YouTube TV, and Hulu. Hulu and fubo are priced at $59,99/mo while YouTube TV costs $64.99.
The select games include a pair of Round of 16-second leg matches and the Champions League Final. So those are the only three Champions League matches scheduled to be shown on fuboTV, YouTube TV, and Hulu. Our suggestion is to go with CBS All Access to view the full roster of games.
Pre-buzz around the game
Both teams haven't faced each other in some time, but Ajax will come in with some intent to win as they are coming off the back of a 5-1 win against Heerenveen. Dusan Tadic, the captain had a brace to his credit while Ghana international, Mohammed Kudus, along with midfielder Davy Klaassen and Brazilian forward Antony, chipped in with goals to inflict some damage. The team has no injury concerns and the manager Erik ten Hag will have a complete fit side to choose from.
Liverpool, on the other hand, is searching for a win. Their last Premier League game against Everton ended in a stalemate and prior to that was a 7-2 loss to Aston Villa which will be the talking point postseason as well. The Jurgen Klopp side will have quite a few absentees in center-back Virgil van Dijk, who suffered a serious injury that could potentially rule him out for the rest of the season.
Goalkeeper Alisson Becker, midfielder Thiago Alcantara, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are all out. Alcantara's knee injury which he suffered during the Merseyside Derby last week (Sat, Oct 17) was not deemed to be serious.
Who will win?
Ajax comes in as favorites into this game. Partly due to the momentum they have on their side and fully fit squad. They will press on with the advantage that Liverpool is missing its star signing this game.
