'Little Fires Everywhere' Episode 7: Now that Elena knows the truth about Mia, what does she plan to do?
'Little Fires Everywhere' episode 7 titled 'Picture Perfect' is going to be anything but perfect for its characters. After diving into Elena and Mia's past in the previous episode, we will be returning to Elena and Mia's present. Shaker Heights, 1997. Elena is back home and feeling quite righteous about the truth she has found out about Mia. Before we were shown Mia and Elena's past, we saw how Elena had ended up in New York City to find the truth about Mia Warren.
With her college sweetheart Jaime's help, we see Elena discovering that Mia's real name is Wright and that Warren was her brother. We also see her reach out to Mia's parents, and upon reaching their home, she learns that the picture of a pregnant Mia was taken during college. She also learns that Pearl is not Mia's daughter. Now that Elena knows Mia has been lying all this while about her financial status, about her family and Pearl's family, what can we expect from Elena in the upcoming episode?
For one, this knowledge might play a huge role in getting Mia to somehow back out from helping Bebe get her own child, Mai Ling, back. The reason why Elena set out to find the truth about Mia and tear her mask of lies away was that she was mad at herself for introducing Mia to her friend Linda. Pearl is unaware of her mother's past, of her mother hiding a large sum of money from her and her real family as well, so if Elena used this as a bargaining chip, Mia might back down.
After all, we did see how scared she was about telling the truth to Pearl the last time Pearl wanted to know about her father. In fact, she started to panic and had even placed a call to her only friend, Anita, who then told her to come clean with Pearl. So between backing down and coming clean with Pearl, what would Mia choose, and will this conflict also push her to pack up and leave Shaker Heights?
However, if Mia does decide to leave, wouldn't she be giving in to Elena's bullying ways? As a mother who taught her daughter to not only stand up for herself but also to advocate for herself; it doesn't seem like Mia is the kind of person who would back down from a fight, especially when she believes in the cause. So we can expect an electric confrontation between the two.
