Lindsey Graham faces backlash as senator warns ‘world will truly be on fire’ if Trump is not re-elected
COLUMBIA, SOUTH CAROLINA: Sen Lindsey Graham, R-SC, has found himself in hot water after delivering a stark warning while discussing former Rep Liz Cheney’s vocal opposition to Donald Trump.
On Sunday, November 03, the 68-year-old Senator appeared on CNN’s 'State of the Union', where host Dana Bash spoke of Cheney's impending book 'Oath and Honor,' which bashes Republicans for supporting Trump through his 2020 election fraud claims and the Jan 6 Capitol riot.
During the interview, Graham was asked to respond to Cheney’s remark that a second Trump presidency would imply that the United States is "sleepwalking into a dictatorship."

"I understand why people don't like what he does and says at times," Graham said of Trump, adding "but in terms of actions and results, he was far better president [than] Biden.”
“And if we have four more years of this, Liz Cheney, then we won't recognize America and the world will be truly on fire,” he then warned.
Graham, who has backed Trump ahead of the 2024 presidential race, said that Cheney's "hatred of Trump is real," but he cautioned that Biden's second term would be disastrous for all.
"I think a continuation of the Biden presidency would be a disaster for peace and prosperity at home and abroad," Graham said, adding "Our border is broken; the only person really going to fix our broken border is Donald Trump."
Graham also mentioned the terrorist attacks on Israel and the invasion of Ukraine by Russia during Biden's presidency, according to Fox News.
"When [Trump] was president, none of this stuff was going on in Ukraine," he said, adding "You know, Hamas and all these other terrorist groups were afraid of Trump."
In contrast to Graham’s recent remarks, he previously warned that Americans would get destroyed if they voted for Trump. “If we nominate Trump, we will get destroyed.......and we will deserve it,” he tweeted in 2016.

Lindsey Graham endorses Trump
Graham has already been endorsing Trump in the 2024 election. He previously hailed the real-estate mogul, saying that Hamas would have never invaded Israel, if Trump was president.
“I believe if Trump were president, none of this would be going on,” he previously said on CNN, adding, “If he were president of the United States, Hamas would not have attacked Israel, I really believe that, Putin wouldn’t have invaded Ukraine because they’re afraid of the guy.”
Previously, Trump also defended Graham after a crowd of supporters at a campaign rally booed the South Carolina senator in his home state in January. “We’re going to love him,” Trump said of Graham.
“I know it’s half and half, but when I need some of those liberal votes, he’s always there to help me get them. We’ve got some pretty liberal people, but he’s good. We know the good ones,” Trump added.
Internet reacts to Graham’s remarks
Graham’s remarks have garnered immense social media attention, with users slamming him for his warning regarding Trump. “What does Trump have on Lindsey Graham?” one user questioned
“I guess Sen. Graham learned something about Trump's support in the intervening years between the remarks,” a second user said.
“We all know what's going on with Lindsey G. But without the proof, kind people do not want to say it out loud. And the ones who would criticize him are mostly on the MAGA Republican side of our fine kettle of political fish,” a third user remarked.
“That’s just Lindsay being Lindsay lol, dude has flip-flopped the entire time he’s been in Washington,” a fourth user remarked, while a fifth wrote, “The amount of brown-nosing Lindsey does, to his own detriment, makes me think Trump has some juicy dirt on him.”
“Lindsay, Home Depot who is a significant donor to the Trump campaign, also sells fire extinguishers. You're going to need several,” one more user said.
