Fans slam Lily James as 'horrible choice' to play Pamela Anderson in upcoming Hulu sex tape show

The series will reportedly portray the whirlwind romance of Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee, including the sex-tape scandal where moments from their honeymoon were leaked

Lily James and Sebastian Stan have been cast for a biographical mini-series for Hulu where the duo will be playing the roles of Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee. Internet is now expressing their doubts about the casting choice, calling it "the worst choice" of TV.

Reportedly, the series will dramatically portray the whirlwind romance of the couple including the tumultuous sex-tape scandal where the couple’s intimate moments of honeymoon were leaked in public. 

The mini-series consisting of eight episodes will be written by ‘The Wrestler’, ‘Big Fan’ and ‘The Founder’ screenwriter Rob Siegel along with Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg producing the series via Point Grey. Craig Gillespie will be directing with Dylan Sellers of Limelight and Annapurna as executive producers. Neither Lee nor Anderson are attached to the project at the moment.

Internet has been voicing their take on the casting choice, mainly disagreeing, as a user said, “Lily James is probably the worst choice to cast as Pamela Anderson.” A similar tweet read, “yeah sorry I still don’t buy it. how the hell do you cast lily james as pamela anderson there’s something not right there.” A user quipped, “Raise your hand if you feel personally victimized by this casting choice... Pamela Anderson: (raising hand emoji).”

Another said, “Pamela Anderson style icon... We will see if Lily James can compare. As for Sebastian Stan if he's not going to at least show pelvic, butt shots (frontal nudity isn't necessary but I mean other A-listers like Chris Pine did it so) ..they can keep 'Pam & Tommy' make it HOT.” And added, “A show abt Pamela and Tommy is random as hell but it could potentially be fun esp if it dives into the f*****y of tabloid culture and the way leaked sex tapes/nudes of celebrities are considered appropriate to view ethically. This project... Kinda seems problematic on tht front.” Another user said, “Oh God this is a Nightmare first Kristen Stewart staring as Princess Diana now this they don't know how humiliated this will be I mean come on, Lily James is a 'Girl Next Door' Type of Girl we all know what Pamela Anderson is like since then.”

Lily earlier worked on the TV series ‘War & Peace’ (2016) while she has starred in multiple hit movies including ‘Cinderella’, ‘Baby Driver,’ ‘Darkest Hour’ and ‘Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again'. Sebastian ‘Winter Soldier’ Stan has been a known face for Marvel fans with his iconic portrayal of Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier. He will be seen next in the upcoming Disney Plus series 'The Falcon and The Winter Soldier'.
