Hip-hop icon Lil Wayne recently met US President Donald Trump ahead of the elections, and it appeared as if he supports the POTUS, which did not really go down well with the Internet. The Young Money boss posted a picture of his with Trump where both of them can be seen posing while giving thumbs-up. The meeting came after rapper Ice Cube faced severe backlash for meeting Trump a few weeks ago.

Lil Wayne, who also goes by the name of Lil Tunechi, captioned his picture as, “Just had a great meeting with @realdonaldtrump @potus besides what he’s done so far with criminal reform, the platinum plan is going to give the community real ownership. He listened to what we had to say today and assured he will and can get it done.”

According to ABC News, the meeting between the president and the rapper took place at the Trump National Doral Miami resort, as confirmed by the White House deputy press secretary Judd Deere to the publication.

Lil Wayne might have given his support to Trump’s platinum plan but the world of Twitter surely did not agree to it as many of them lashed out at the Grammy award-winning rapper for meeting him. One user said, “my hood is NOT listening to Lil Wayne anymore.” Another stated, “Omg Wayne I'm your biggest fan. You can't believe his lies. He hates black people and women and everyone basically aside from Ivanka. Seriously no, this is heart breaking.” Whilst talking about the rapper’s past, one tweeted, “His life was saved by a white cop do you expect him to hate cops?” Another commented, “It's so astounding, yet not surprising at all. I swear, I can't even get outraged anymore because the daily outrages pile up like the patties on Donnie's Double Big Mac.”

Lil Wayne, who name-dropped Trump earlier in songs like ‘Racks on Rack,’ rapping, “get money like Donald Trump,” had extended his support for Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton back in 2016. As of now, the rapper has not given any hint whether he is voting for Trump in 2020.
