'Marrying Millions': Desiry was married twice and dated millionaire, Rodney's mom feels she's in it for money
Desiry would often fight with Rodney about him not taking the initiative to arrange for a family meeting. But not anymore. Rodney fulfilled her wish to meet with his folks but did it go as planned? Not really.
In this week's episode of 'Marrying Millions,' Desiry decides to dress up for the big meeting, which starts off well but spiraled out of control soon after she brought up how she would not have sex with Rodney till the day he asks her to marry him. This was inappropriate for Rodney and his parents, especially his mother who called it "inappropriate." But she was able to look past it because overall it felt good to be talking to her.
But that was just the tip of the iceberg. The conversation steered in a different direction when the question of Desiry moving from Los Angeles to Washington DC came up. When Desiry said Rodney earned enough to have two houses in different cities, he said he doesn't want to do that. Desiry was quick to latch on to that comment. She said that there's no 'I in a team," to which Rodney replied: "There is...when I am paying your bills."
This got Rodney's mother suspecting if Desiry was in it for the money. A bit later, she asked if Desiry has been married? "Twice," and added that she has dated a millionaire before and it didn't work out because for her it's more than the wealth. "Integrity is very important for me," Desiry said. But was that enough to convince Rodney's folks? Appears not because in the preview we see her tell Rodney that she doesn't approve of Desiry. Meanwhile, Desiry seemed offended by Rodney's mother's indirect comments that possibly came across more as jabs.
In a nutshell, it was a dinner from hell where a lot of things could have gone right but it didn't because there were unresolved issues and secrets involved. Rodney's mother wasn't appreciative of the fact that she was getting to meet Desiry for the first time in the two years he has dated her.
