When Amara La Negra revealed to her mother that her father got in touch with her and wanted to reconnect with her, her mother warned her against it. Her mother explained to Amara how her father abandoned them and was never there for her, and also suspected that there might be some ulterior motive to his sudden desire to reconnect with a daughter he hasn’t been in touch with for years.

Despite her mother’s stern warnings, Amara still chose to meet her father and forgive him for all he has done. In the previous episode, we saw the father and daughter share a beautiful moment together, where her father apologized for not being present in her life and revealed that his lack of papers and documentation was why he couldn’t be in Amara's life.

On the latest episode of 'Love & Hip Hop: Miami', Amara reveals to her mother that she spent time with her father. During their conversation, he asked her for some money for his cancer treatment. The reality star's mother sees red flags and immediately cautions her daughter against helping out her father. She points out how he conveniently chose to reconnect when he needed money and his daughter was in a position to help. She then reveals that her father led a happy and relaxed life in Puerto Rico while she was struggling to raise Amara all by herself.

After watching the episode, fans are convinced that Amara's father is just there for the money and does not care much for his daughter.

A fan tweeted, "I'm sorry Amara, but your dad only came around cause he has cancer and he need your money! He don't care about you! #LHHMIA. (sic)" Another fan wrote, "I lowkey feel a way. Like I understand Amara wanting to help her father. However, it’s just strange that now she has money & is on tv, he’s able to reach out to her and somehow find her. But was unreachable for over 20 years. #LHHMIA."

"Amara, if you worked at Walmart, would your father have contacted you? Would he still be contacting you and asking for money for his cancer treatments then??#LHHMIA," questioned a fan.

Another fan  observed, "Amara not realizing her dad is coming around for her money is just as bad as Robin not realizing that crack-head Troy stole her wallet on 'Waiting To Exhale'..... 'wait you think he stole it!?' SMH Face with #LHHMIA.”

"Amara if you don't let your dad go through cancer alone. your mom is right... why is he telling you about his hardships now? Girl cause you got a lil money... not even a lot #lhhmia," commented another fan.

Fans also found holes in Amara’s father's story about not having papers to visit the US when they learned that he was from Puerto Rico.

A fan pointed out, "Wait did Amara's mother say her father was in Puerto Rico? What immigration did he have to go through? They are US citizens #lhhmia." Another annoyed fan wrote, "Papers my a**. You think Amara's mother had all her paperwork together when she had Amara? And that mama is right. Lack of papers didn't stop that man from calling or sending money for her care.  #LHHMIA." Fans believe that Amara should listen to her mother and stay away from her father and not let him take advantage of her money.
