The ‘Let’s Go Crazy: A Grammy Salute To Prince’ featuring performances from an array of Grammy-winning artists came to a close with a star-studded stage freestyling to Prince's 'Baby I'm A Star'.

But despite its amazing lineup and a stunning choice of songs, the show still didn't manage to move all fans.

Some thoroughly enjoyed the show, tweeting "I so enjoyed this star studded tribute continue to RIH #GRAMMYSalutePrince," while others gave it a lukewarm response, stating "Show wasn’t bad , yeah they performed the same songs but I hope it will attract new fans. #GRAMMYSalutePrince"

Some fans flat-out refused to watch the special, tweeting "I can't watch others sing #Prince songs so I passed on this #GRAMMYSalutePrince show," while others wanted to see Prince himself in perform, stating "Instead of the #GRAMMYSalutePrince, I would rather see a full Prince concert televised. #Prince"

One fan states, "special was a good time. The song selections were perfect, set design was amazing, and Sheila E did her thing. I loved it! Rest in peace, Prince!" while another joked, "Thank goodness they didn’t use a hologram. Prince would have been like:" and featured a video of Prince looking quite perturbed.

Many fans enjoyed the final closing performance. One fan joked, "Oh good! Sheila got her earring back!" adding, "I love this ensemble! #GRAMMYSalutePrince." Some, however, thought it was a bit of a mess, tweeting "Did we not practice the finale orrrr"

Fans were naturally hyped up about the song choice, tweeting "Baby I’m a Star brings the house down every damn time! #GRAMMYSalutePrince" and praising it for its contribution to their lives by stating, "Baby I'm A Star has been my self-esteem booster for YEARS #GRAMMYSalutePrince"

Others, however, thought the song choice was a horrible idea. One viewer tweets, "Wait, they’re not ending the show with Purple Rain? Who produced this sh*t? #GRAMMYSalutePrince"

Fans also noted one major act missing from the show's lineup -- Janelle Monáe. "they did this tribute without a performance by Janelle Monáe?! #GRAMMYSalutePrince," asks one viewer, while another queries, "Did @JanelleMonae’s invite to #GRAMMYSalutePrince get lost in the mail? Not the only omission of the night but a glaring one."

Prince and Monáe were not only great friends, but they also collaborated on Monáe's album 'Dirty Computer' with Prince being heavily involved in the production process. Not having Monáe be a part of this tribute, especially when everything from her sound to her style reflects how much of an influence he has been on her artistry, does seem odd, to say the least. Even more so when one realizes she already performed a tribute to her idol during the 2019 BET Awards.

Despite the mixed reviews for the tribute, however, one thing is certain - this special reminded everyone, from longtime fans to the uninitiated, that Prince was one-of-a-kind.

"All this just make me miss him even harder," tweets one fan, adding, "Once in a lifetime artist and human being . #GRAMMYSalutePrince." Another states, "We lost him way too soon!"
