'Lethal Weapon' episode 5 'Get the Picture' spoilers: Will Murtaugh save the day?
As usual, the two buddy cops get into a bit of a mess and from the looks of the promo trailer, Cole gets into some serious trouble.
'Lethal Weapon' does not lack drama - be it on screen or off it. This week's fresh new Tuesday episode has us expecting major action and some family drama. Called 'Get the Picture', episode 5 of the latest season is investigating some stolen art, as the title suggests (geddit?). Sounds fun right? The synopsis says that the two LAPD detectives, Roger Murtaugh, and Wesley Cole are investigating a "robbery of a truck filled with fine art." As usual, the two buddy cops get into a bit of a mess and from the looks of the promo trailer, Cole gets into some serious trouble. Is it his method of doing things alone, thanks to his CIA background? We'll just have to see.
The promo starts off with Cole inside a boat with armed men aiming guns at him. In his signature humor, he tries to make the situation better by saying, "If you guys wouldn’t mind removing your shoes before entering, I’d really appreciate it." Doesn't seem to work though. From the looks of it, he is trying to protect a woman who appears to have been taken hostage by the bad guys. Four men vs one ex CIA agent turned LAPD detective? I think the odds are in our favor, even though Cole has his hands tied above his head. The promo also shows a worried but furious Murtaugh asking one of the bad guys what they were doing with his partner. This does imply that Murtaugh may have been in on the whole thing but is mad because now Cole is involved. However, if you know this partnership, you know this can never happen - these guys have become thick as thieves in a short time. Even Trish, Murtaugh's wife, approves of Cole.
The latter half of the promo shows that Cole's jokes did not ease the tension because he along with the mysterious woman are tied up on a pole in the boat which is now sinking. As water comes into the room, the two are submerged with their hands tied. If you remember, this season had started off with Murtaugh tying up a boat in his front yard - the one he used as a workspace and had to eventually get rid of. It appears that his nautical skills will come in handy as Detective Bailey and Murtaugh try getting to Cole in a boat called Lucille. He doesn't get the hang of things first, though. Expect some major gags there. The onus is on Murtaugh to save the day, unlike the last couple of episodes where it's been Cole to the rescue.
Catch the buddy cop show every Tuesday, at 9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.
