It sure looks like the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are going heavy on their offense as they added running back, Leonard Fournette, to their arsenal. The 25-year-old signed a one-year deal with the Bucs and was released by Jacksonville on Monday, August 31. According to the New York Post, and multiple media outlets, the star confirmed the news on Twitter and as per the NFL, the deal is worth $2 million.

It was quite the journey for Fournette as his insane skills, injury woes, clashes with the Jaguar coachers and an arrest in April 2019 for driving with a suspended license finally saw the team look at trading opportunities during the offseason. Fans took to Twitter to weigh-in on the move. "I’ve already said it before, I don’t know what to expect for my Patriots but I look forward to it. Watch out for my boy Tom and the Bucs, adding Fournette is the type of stuff I saw for 20 years in NE... give TB weapons, that’s all he needs. #GoPats," a fan wrote.

"The 2020 Tampa Bay Buccaneers are reminding me of the 2009 Minnesota Vikings, only way more lethal. The ‘09 Vikes had a ton of weapons and then landed Brett. The Bucs had some weapons, landed Tom, and then KEPT acquiring weapons... #Fournette," one of the tweets read.

Not all were happy though. "Lock up a quarterback into his age-43 season - Coax an injury-plagued tight end out of retirement - Sign a running back no one will trade a bag of kicking tees for Your 2020 Tampa Bay Bucs, redefining "market inefficiency." (Full disclosure, I can talk myself into Brady.)," read one of the tweets.

"Brady went from no weapons last year to the most weapons he’s ever had in his career in one team. Bucs going to be a legit problem," a fan remarked.

According to ESPN, on Monday, coach Doug Marrone of the Jags said the move was "the best decision for us as a team". He added that it was strictly an on-field decision to waive Fournette and only time will tell how the RB fares for the Bucs.
What are your thoughts on Fournette joining the Bucs?
