'Legacies' Season 3 Episode 1 Spoilers: Will Landon die before Hope returns? Raf's idea might save his friend
Spoilers ahead for 'Legacies' Season 3 Episode 1
'Legacies' Season 2 had ended on quite a shocking note after Landon (Aria Shahghasemi) died and Hope never woke up. Landon had been stabbed with the golden arrow by his best friend and foster brother Rafael (Peyton Alex Smith) who was being controlled by the necromancer. Hope (Danielle Rose Russell), on the other hand, had traveled into Josie's (Kaylee Bryant) mind to find the real her hiding in the form of a pig within her subconscious that was designed to look like a fairytale. Hope had succeeded in helping Josie overthrow the evil replicate of her that was running on the fumes of black magic but she did not return herself. In fact, the last we saw of her, she was turned into a stone in Josie's mind.
So in the 'Legacies' Season 3 premiere, episode 1, we will see if Landon is really dead and when Hope will return. If Landon does die now, it would mean that the prophecy did in fact come true. Hope was nowhere near Landon when he was in danger and she was unable to save him. All of season 2, different episodes alluded to the fact that Landon may not live too long as well and that is worrying.
At the beginning of the premiere episode, we see Landon get ready to say goodbye to his life and this is something that he does feel bad about. However, he is also happy that until now, he was able to live his life to the fullest. Just when he was about to walk into the light, however, he is grabbed by the Necromancer. The man who controls death did promise Headmaster Saltzman (Matt Davis) that he would return Landon to how he was before death. However, he would never keep his side of the bargain, not without creating a loophole that could further his agenda of raising Malivore and controlling him. With Landon still alive on Earth, Malivore would obviously attempt to use his son as a host and the Necromancer did nothing but to stop this from happening in the future.
Of course, Headmaster Saltzman must also remember that the school students may not be ready to welcome Josie back with warmth and smiles. After all, she blackmailed them to do her bidding, used suggestion spells to get other students to work as her slave, and had even killed Alyssa who was brought back by the Necromancer only to become a puppet again. So there is a lot of wariness amid the crowd, which is understandable. So to avoid all of this a field day is planned. Not only will students of the Salvatore High School be away, but this will also give the others some time to figure out how to raise Landon from the dead, and wake Hope from her long slumber.
By holding Landon's spirit hostage, the Necromancer continues to manipulate everyone including Raf. He might in fact succeed as well. You see, Raf decides to accept Landon's spirit within his body to ensure that he's not stranded in the astral plane while they figure out how to bring his body and his spirit back together in Hope's absence.
Meanwhile, the students who are out on a field trip end up facing struggles of their own. Josie is continually bullied by her classmates who are not ready to let go of what she did while being influenced by black magic. Since she hid her siphoning powers off in her piggy bank, it is left to Lizzie (Jenny Boyd) to protect her sister. There also seems to be a monster on the loose after one raises from the pit of Malivore mistakenly in Necromancer's absence. So they struggle to figure out how to face the Lady of the Lake and for the most part fail. In fact, they also wonder where Hope really is, unaware of the fact that she never returned. So will Hope return to see Landon in Raf?
'Legacies' Season 3 episodes will air on Thursdays on The CW at 9 pm EST.
