Levi Isaac Davis: Man, 26, arrested for mom's murder as cops find bloodied clothing in his home and car
MIDDLETON, IDAHO: An Idaho man was arrested in connection with the murder of his mother who was found dead with chunks of hair and skin missing, according to the court documents. Karly Cantrell was found lying in a pool of blood by her husband Kevin Kline at her home in Middleton on October 10. Cantrell’s son Levi Isaac Davis, 26, has been charged after investigators found bloodied clothing at his Nampa home and in his car.
Canyon County Deputy Prosecutor, Sean Jorgensen, described the killing as “truly horrific”. Police reportedly found a deep cut on Davis' right thigh and a burn mark on his arm. According to an affidavit, he also had a scratch on the top of his left hand. Police said Davis was kicked out of the family home due to his 'poor behavior'. He reportedly showed no remorse or emotion while speaking about his mother.

Cantrell's other two sons, aged 15 and 17, told the cops that they last saw their mother at around 7.35 am on the day of the killing. The younger son reportedly claimed that he texted his mom that he forgot to take his project to school. She replied to him later saying that she would drop it off, said the police. However, the 15-year-old's messages were not getting delivered when he tried to text her again at 9 am. The 17-year-old also said that he did not receive a reply from his mother after he tried to call her several times a few hours later on the same day.
A blue car was reportedly seen parked outside Cantrell’s home at 7.54 am by the neighbors. It was later seen leaving the house 25 minutes later. A witness claimed the saw he saw Davis in the family home with what looked like to be blood on his pants.
Karly Cantrell served as the Executive Director at the West Valley Humane Society animal shelter in Caldwell. People who knew her have paid tributes after news of her death emerged. “Karly was the heart and soul of West Valley Humane Society and a fierce advocate for both animals and people in need", the shelter said, according to The Sun. “She was a kind, compassionate and empathetic friend, mother, wife, grandmother, and daughter. Her impact on the world moves far past the animal shelter and directly into the hearts of the many she took under her wing." The shelter described her as “innovative, creative and motivated”.
