'Leave my daughter out of your voice': Nikki Haley and Vivek Ramaswamy clash over TikTok in GOP debate

MIAMI, FLORIDA: Vivek Ramaswamy came down to personal attacks at the GOP debate on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, as he clashed with fellow candidate Nikki Haley over TikTok. 

The GOP leader ended up targeting Haley's daughter for using TikTok as he was put in the spot for running his campaign through the social media application.

Ramaswamy took a shot at Haley by going through her family first, riling up the tension during the debate. 

"In the last debate, she made fun of me for actually joining TikTok while her own daughter was actually using the app for a long time. So, you might want to take care of your family first," Ramaswamy said.

"Leave my daughter out of your voice," Haley warned Ramaswamy as the crowd went on to boo the entrepreneur for his snide remark. She said, "You're just scum," as he continued with his stance on the Chinese app. 

Haley was then given the window to respond to him by the moderators on her state's response to China and Chinese businesses.

While the debate moved on from this, many internet users were greatly affected by Ramaswamy's move, proceeding to attack the young candidate.

Netizens call Vivek Ramaswamy a 'disgrace' for attacking Nikki Haley's daughter

Many social media users slammed Ramaswamy for attacking Nikki Haley's daughter. 

"Professional fraudster Vivek Ramaswamy says his use of TikTok is ok because Nikki Haley's daughter also uses it. Make it make sense," one user wrote on X. 

Another angered debate viewer said, "I didn't think I could despise Vivek Ramaswamy more than after he went after Nikki Haley's daughter. F*ck that a**hole."

A post also said, "Vivek got booed bad for bringing up Nikki Haley’s daughter. Rightfully so. D**k move."

Many speculated that it was strange of Ramaswamy to look into Haley's daughter's social media as one post said, "Why exactly was Vivek looking at Nikki Haley’s daughter’s TikTok page?"

"Vivek going after Nikki Haley's daughter over Tik Tok was absolutely outrageous," a user wrote.

While another said, "Her response calling him scum for it was mild in my opinion. I'm sure there were many other names she wanted to use."

He might have won many over with his takes during the debate but the entrepreneur especially put people off with this remark. One user wrote, "Ramaswamy’s night so far: 1. Calls Zelensky a Nazi 2. Goes after Nikki Haley’s daughter What’s next? Making fun of cancer patients? Kicking a puppy on the stage?"

Another user agreed and wrote, "@VivekGRamaswamy is an insufferable prick. He's openly sexist and degrading to women. He attacks Nikki Haley and her daughter, then refuses to let her talk without him talking over her. He's a disgrace."
