LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'America's Got Talent: Fantasy League' judge Mel B recently received backlash for criticizing NBC show's contestant, Wes-P. The judge was accused of 'fat shaming' the contestant.

During the 'AGT' show's Week 2, Mel hit her red X button for Wes and claimed that the comedian's performance was a waste of time. Wes went shirtless on the stage, and attached plungers to his nipples and put fire on it.

The contestant's performance left Mel unimpressed and she hit the red buzzer claiming no one would want to watch that in Vegas. She further noted Wes-P's performance was not as dangerous as compared to the two balancing acts that were shown earlier.

Meanwhile, viewers called out Mel for criticizing Wes.

An X user tweeted, "If Wes P was hot Mel B wouldn't have buzzed him."

Another person added, "You have a right not to like an act. You do not have the right to make them feel bad. You know they won’t be voted in, why be mean about it? Learn a little compassion m."

Another critic noted, "I have one question. How come Mel wanted her guys to take their shirts off, but when Simon’s guy takes his off, her retort is: Are you kidding me? 🤔 Double standard 🤷🏽‍♀️."

Another social media user penned, "I’d be willing to bet if he came out all jacked up Mel B would have been singing a different tune. She basically fat shamed as soon as the shirt came off…the look of disgust when he did that…"

Simon Cowell slams Mel B for being 'over competitive'

Simon Cowell defended his Dream team contestant Wes-P and claimed he was the best after Mel B criticized him. After Wes' performance, Simon said, "I actually got quite emotional... listen, I think Mel is just being over competitive... didn't need to buzz."

Mel responded to Simon's troll and said, "I did need to buzz because I've just what four minutes of my life that I'm never going to get back."

However, Howie Mandel and Heidi Klum backed Mel and noted that Wes' performance was not up to the mark.

Simon insisted that the live audience would vote for Wes but Mel called him back noting, "There's nothing that you can say to make people vote."

Did Wes-P grab a spot in 'AGT: Fantasy League' finale?

Wes-P failed to grab a spot in 'AGT: Fantasy League' semi-finale. He was eliminated during the NBC show's week 2.

Simon Cowell was left with Wes-P as the last act to be drafted, but that didn’t stop the judge from promising to 'turn this around' into a winning act.

Heidi and Howie added to the impression that the voting audience would not support Wes-P, but Simon insisted that he’d be worthy of being saved by the fans.

Simon shared Wes' backstory and noted, "He has spent two years for preparing for this performance. He's flown a long long time to be here. He's emotional." He added, "He wants to win and yes it might not be your cup of tea but we look for things that are different."
