'Law & Order' Season 21 Episode 4: DA, NYPD rattled by shocking murder of judge
The original ‘Law & Order’ series took everyone by storm with a compelling premiere episode that was similar to the Bill Cosby case. However, in recent weeks, the show has done a phenomenal job in telling stories that were interesting and were “ripped straight from the headlines”.
The previous episode of the NBC hit series had eerie similarities with the disappearance and killing of Gabby Petito. For the uninitiated, a 22-year-old girl named Gabby Petito was allegedly murdered by her own fiancé Brian Laundrie in August 2021 while they were having a journey across the country in their van. It also showed how social media played an important role during the investigation.

‘Law & Order’ Season 21 Episode 4 Spoilers
Tackling high-profile cases is nothing new for the police and District Attorney’s office. However, there are some cases that might turn out to be really difficult because of their gruesome details. Titled ‘Fault Lines’, the upcoming episode of ‘Law & Order’ will see detectives Bernard (Anthony Anderson) and Cosgrove (Jeffrey Donovan) investigating the murder of a renowned judge.
Now, the life of a judge is not that easy. He or she gets to decide who is innocent and who is guilty of a crime. A good judge will always take the side of the innocent and punish the guilty party. However, one fish can actually make the whole pond look dirty. There are a lot of judges who change sides if they are offered money and might give the decision in the favor of the person who actually did the crime. So, it seems NYPD might be dealing with the same kind of person.
The promo shows Bernard and Cosgrove going through the judge’s staff and they get to know about a file in which the first 10 pages are all about the people who have threatened him. We also get to see police bringing in three people for interrogation who believe that police is way off basics.
The case is not about “who did it”, it’s all about “why?”
It will be interesting to see how NYPD and District Attorney’s office will tackle such a sensitive case. They might come face-to-face with some shocking details that would change everything.
‘Law & Order’ Season 21 returns to NBC with a new episode every Thursday at 8 pm EST.
