'Labor of Love': Kristy ends her relationship with Marcus, tells him 'I don't want to be your mother'
Kristy Katzmann was looking forward to finding a man that she could start a family with and in the latest episode (July 9), she decided to visit the hometown of the top three people she had chosen. Among them, Marcus Lehman was someone she thought had everything planned in his life.
However, when she visited his hometown, she was forced to rethink this. The contestants were asked to give Kristy the chance of meeting their friends to help her know more about them. While Stewart Gill and Kyle Klinger introduced her to their friends, Stewart had some other plans for her.
He decided to invite her home and introduced Kristy to his house mom. At first, she was confused as she wondered where her friends were but later, Kristy understood that Marcus wanted Kristy to meet his house mom because she was the closest friend he had. This decision of his took her by surprise and Kristy admitted that she always thought of him as someone who had everything sorted in his life.
Speaking to the camera, Kristy admitted that the Marcus she was seeing today had been different from the one she saw when the show started. Kristy was also taken aback when she found out that Marcus needed help with everything around the house. Right from picking up some pants for him to making sure he had food on his table. Kristy was not happy to see how Marcus needed help around the house. As the day came to an end, she had mixed opinions about how things went. It was finally time for her to choose one person she wanted to let go. After a lot of thinking, Kristy made up her mind of letting Marcus go.
She sat down with him and explained that she used to choose partners who were too dependent. Making it clear that she wanted someone confident and independent enough for her, she told Marcus that he was not the one for her. She further said, "I don't want to be your mother" while explaining the main reason she thought the relationship was not worth the try.
While Marcus was disappointed, Kyle and Stewart thought she made the right choice by letting him go.
'Labor of Love' airs on Thursdays at 9 pm ET on FOX.
