'Krypton' season 2: Release date, cast, plot and everything you need to know about the Superman prequel
'Krypton' season 1 ended with some crazy implications and after that season 1 finale, we couldn't wait for the second season. It may not have been a critic's delight, but the show still had enough promise and action to hook audiences. What made the first season a standout hit was that it looked at creating its own path despite being a prequel. Alongside introducing characters related directly to Superman, the world also got a glimpse of Adam Strange, and it's safe to assume that we'll be seeing more characters from DCU in the upcoming season. Here's what we know about Krypton Season 2 so far.
Release
'Krypton' Season 2 arrives on June 12, 2019
Plot
Season 2 sees the story jump five months after Seg-El enters 'The Phantom Zone' with General Zod in control. The trailer also offered a look at another new threat in the form of Doomsday. With Lobo in the mix as well, Seg-el will have his work cut out to stop the baddies. While the first season is all about arriving at a familiar Superman origin story, the second will look at detailing out in re-establishing his legacy.
Cast
Shaun Sipos (Adam Strange), Colin Salmon (Zod) and Brainiac (Blake Ritson) will be returning as will Cameron Cuffe as Seg-El. Nyssa-Vex (Wallis Day), Lyta-Zod (Georgina Campbell), Jayna-Zod (Ann Ogbomo), Dev-Em (Aaron Pierre), Jax-Ur (Hannah Waddingham), Kem (Rasmus Hardiker), Val-El (Ian McElhinney) and potentially Daron-Vex (Elliot Cowan) too will be back in the second season. Emmett Scanlan will be back as anti-hero Lobo, who stalks the universe on his motorbike and kills whoever stands in his way.
Director/writer
The series is based on the DC Comic series written by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster. Damian Kindler will return as the showrunner with David S. Goyer as co-executive producer.
Trailer
The trailer starts off with General Zod making the entire city of Kandor look like Krypton. The footage also follows Seg-El and Brainiac's journey in the phantom zone. Last season, we caught a glimpse of Doomsday in a cryogenic chamber, but this season appears to be giving us a full view of the villain. Emmett Scanlan's Lobo steals the limelight in the final few seconds of the trailer.
