K-pop fans who are famous for Twitter trends are at it again. They widely use social media platforms not only to extend their support to their favorite bands and their members but also to cancel or called out certain artists, using viral trends. However, K-pop fans have now come under fire for allegedly starting #ItsOKayToBeRacist, which is being severely criticized for promoting hatred and racism.

According to one of the tweets by an Internet user, K-pop fans started the new trend to "annoy racist people" who are found using #ItsOkayToBeRacist, flooding them with the hashtag until they "drop them". However, another Twitter user noted that K-pop fans started the trend to create differences among people. "KPop did it. KPop crew has been trying to get things to trend to watch everyone fight and think it’s real."

When #ItsOkayToBeRacist started to trend, agitated internet users took to Twitter to remind K-pop fans, who have allegedly started the trend, that it’s not okay to be racist. One wrote, "NOPE NOPE NOPE WHY IN THE WORLD IS #ItsOkayToBeRacist TRENDING!!! I don't stand hard on a lot of things but I'm pretty sure children know it's not. Come at me in the comments. I'm absolutely done with racism. If you can't be a human about it then we don't need you. GOOD DAY SIR!!" While another tweeted, "#ItsOkayToBeRacist no it's not OKAY LISTEN HERE U LITTLE S**T BEING A RACIST IS NOT AND WILL NEVER BE OKAY GO EDUCATE YOURSELF AND GET OFF TWITTER FFS."

And, one Twitter user slammed them for being insensitive towards the black community and the issues they encounter on a daily basis. "Ironic that one of the least diverse countries in the world, Korea boy bands is spamming a twitter trend #ItsOkayToBeRacist. Try being a black guy in Korea," read the tweet. Meanwhile, another user has called out the K-pop fans for being ignorant. They tweeted, "Thanks to #kpop I don’t know how the f**k they say that so don't blame me for this if I got it wrong. For taking over the hashtag #ItsOkayToBeRacist you used your fan cams for good have a crown. Remember it is not okay to be racist."

A few on Twitter who have witnessed several trends similar to #ItsOkayToBeRacist have noted that they have no choice but to block the accounts that promote such racist messages. "#WhiteLivesMatter #ItsOkayToBeRacist I’m on a mission to block all kpop accounts, please help me out by responding to this with dancing Koreans so I can block you," read a tweet.
