Are Kings of Leon dropping eighth album? Release date, tracklist, concept and all you need to about band’s new project
Kings of Leon, the Grammy award-winning rock band from Nashville, Tennessee, might soon treat their loyal fans with some new music as the official Twitter account of the group has been teasing fresh music since we stepped into 2021.
Starting from January 1, the group has been posting 20-second snippets of their new music along with the song titles. They have posted a total of four audio snippets which we assume can be from their upcoming album which they have not officially announced yet.
Formed in 1999 in Nashville, Tennessee, Kings of Leon comprises four members namely Matthew Followill, Jared Followill, Caleb Followill and Nathan Followill. The band is known for its alternative and arena rock sound. Kings of Leon achieved initial success in the United Kingdom with nine Top 40 singles and two BRIT Awards in 2008.
With seven albums to their name, their last album titled ‘Walls’ was released in 2016. Their third album called ‘Because of the Times’ topped the charts in the UK in 2007. Speaking of their new project, here’s everything else you need to know about which might be their eighth album.
Release date
Kings of Leon has not shared any details on the release date or any name of their new project. All we know is they captioned two of their above-mentioned social media posts with the date of January 7 which does give us some hope about the release date of the same. We will keep you posted.
Concept
If we talk about the snippets they have shared, the new music does feel like the band’s signature sound and we are not complaining at all. Kings of Leon bassist Jared Followill had given a hint about their new project on December 25, 2020, with a tweet. Speaking about the band’s new album, he had shared, “Blame it on the holiday "cheer", but I just feel like sharing. @kingsofleon tweeted “the w8 is nearly over” TEN MONTHS ago. Enough. If you were promised new Kings music in 2 weeks, would you forgive us? Could you?”
