'Kingdom' Season 2 released on March 13 and consisted of six episodes, similar to the first season which dropped on Netflix in January 2019. The show is a historical drama in which the Crown Prince fights against forces that have introduced a man-made plague in Joseon which turns humans into bloodthirsty zombies.  Season 3 of the show is yet to be confirmed, however, the ending of Season 2 shows that a renewal is highly possible.

Release date:

Since Season 3 renewal hasn't been made official, there is no official release date as of now, however, do stay tuned for updated news.

Plot:

Season 1:

In the first season of 'Kingdom', we saw how just 10 days after the King was found to be sick, the Queen and her father, country's Chief State Councilor Cho Hak-Joo, have shut down any contact with the King. So no one has met the King in 10 days, and this includes his son, Crown Prince Yi Chang. The Crown Prince figures out that something is fishy about his father's illness and so he tries to sneak into the King's palace.

That is when he sees something sinister -- a shadowy monster -- and there is a foul stench too. To add to this, the King's medical journal is also empty. So to figure out the truth about the disease, the Crown Prince along with his guard Moo-Young travels to a faraway village where the King's physician has a hospital. Upon arriving, however, they find bodies of dead people and a deserted hospital. Just one medical staff, Seo-Bi, survived and revealed to the Crown Prince that the dead bodies were not really dead, but will rise again to kill people.

Season 2:

'Kingdom' Season 2 saw Crown Prince Chang face the forces of the Haewon Cho Clan headed by Hak-joo (Ryoo Seung-Ryong) and win. However, it is not a complete victory because Chang and Seo-bi haven't been able to find the cause of the plague. They have found a way to cure people who have been bitten by other infected people, however, Chang or Seo-bi haven't been able to find the root cause of the plague still, which is caused by a flower. At the end of the season, the show also introduced to Gianna Jun as a zombie master who is selling the plague plants to unsuspecting Joseon citizens seven years after Chang manages to end the plague.

Season 3:

The third season of the show, if renewed, will see how Chang will react to the Crown Prince being infected with the zombie virus as well. We will also see how Gianna Jun's character will shape the future of the show that is based on webcomic "Burning Hell Shinui Nara" by Kim Eun-Hee which was illustrated by Yang Kyung-Il.
