Kim Kardashian West has been very candid about her struggle with psoriasis and continued to be so on her Instagram handle last night. She took to the social media platform to share three pictures of very relatable photos of her psoriasis flare-ups and is getting a lot of praise from her fans for doing so.

The 'Keeping Up with The Kardashians' star captioned one of her selfies which features her flare-ups being caked in a herbal healing ointment, "Psoriasis is the shits". She revealed how she even tried going to a Chinese herbalist to find a cure for the itching. Another picture she shared showed how the beauty mogul was treating the issue and a third picture showed that she also had psoriasis on her legs which she had jokingly captioned, "sexy". She had previously said that the skin patch was her one big flaw and since everybody knew about it, she wasn't going to hide it.

Psoriasis is a condition which results in skin cells building up and forming scaly itchy dry patches on the body.

The patches resemble red itchy spots and can show up anywhere where you have skin such as the scalp, eyelids, knees and face. Statistics from the National Psoriasis Foundation reveal that around 8 million people in the US have the condition and it has a much greater impact on the quality of life for women as covering it up with makeup is difficult and the treatment is pretty expensive.

One fan commented praising Kim to sharing the pictures and said, "I actually really appreciate that Kim Kardashian talks about her psoriasis so publicly. It makes me feel loads better about it. While another fan added, "You know what, I applaud Kim K for speaking openly & showing her psoriasis. She gets so much shit from people about this & that but that’s something I really appreciate about her."

It was only last week when Kim Kardashian shut down a tabloid which referred to her flare-ups as a "bad skin day". In response to the article, Kim tweeted, "It’s psoriasis all over my face." In 2016, Kim took to her app to talk about living with psoriasis and shared, "Sometimes the rashes are itchy, sometimes they're flaky. Mine flares up from time to time for different reasons... Scientists are constantly researching and developing new medications to help treat it, but for now, I use a topical cortisone ointment every night before bed. I'm always hoping for a cure, of course, but in the meantime, I'm learning to just accept it as part of who I am."
