'None of it is helpful': Kiely Rodni's mother slams web sleuths who claimed teen had been found
TRUCKEE, CALIFORNIA: It has been six days since Kiely Rodni, 16, went missing in Truckee, California. She was last seen at around 12.30 am on August 6, driving away from a party at the Prosser Family Campground in her 2013 silver Honda CRV (CA LIC# 8YUR127). After which, the search for the girl began and Placer County Sheriff's Office also shared a video of Rodni's mother, Lindsey Rodni-Nieman, who said, "We just want her home. We're so scared, and we miss her so much, and we love her so much. Kiely we love you, and if you see this, please just come home. I want nothing more than to hug you." However, the mother has now reacted to web sleuths spreading wrong information about Kiely being found.
According to The Sun, the rumors started about the missing teen's whereabouts after an audio clip from a police scanner reported a possible detection of Kiely and the car. As per the report, "A voice is heard detailing the sighting of a girl and a vehicle possibly related to a missing subject out of Placer County." The web sleuths were quick to react when they heard "the vehicle is a match" in the clip. However, police quickly shut down the rumor and informed the outlet that it was “misinformation, no merit.” To which Kiely's mother said, “I knew it was going to be bulls**t. I'm staying off social media. And I've told these poor kids to stay off social media because they're getting streams of messages and people fighting underneath their posts and accusing, all these terrible things. None of it is helpful.”

'It is incredibly disappointing'
A family spokesperson, reacting to rumors, told The Sun, “We were excited but measured when we heard about it, because we’ve had information previously which turned out to be false." While requesting not to spread such false information, the spokesperson said, "It is incredibly disappointing it wasn’t true, and we urge everyone not to share any unfounded reports, which may then circulate on social media. The family and law enforcement are focused on finding Kiely and will not let this dampen their spirit."
Police are investigating a tip
As per the outlet, the rumors came after police got a tip that men in their late 20s were giving free drugs, which included mushrooms and cocaine, to people at the party where Kiely was last spotted. Also, a YouTuber named iCkEdMeL said he got an email from a tipster whose family members attended the party.
In a new video uploaded by the YouTuber on August 11, tipster Ronnie Jones can be heard saying, "I have two cousins, they go to Sierra College, and they were going up to that party, they'd heard about. And they had some other friends going with them but they were around 27/28 years old, they’re older, there was a lot of older dudes there." He further said, "And so I asked them if they knew her, and they said they saw her there and that she was just like, you know, laughing, going from group to group, talking, they didn’t make nothing of it. But she was talking to I guess a bunch of people, she was just walking around talking to everybody. And they said at the party a lot of people were doing shrooms, cocaine, drinking, and all that."
Ronnie claimed that his family didn't see her leave as they left the party, while adding, "They told me they didn’t see her wearing a sweatshirt at that time, she was wearing the bodysuit, same outfit, but they didn't see her wearing no sweatshirt."
