Who is Kevin Moore? Ohio man shoots dead girlfriend's kids, 5 and 1, and injures another, 4, after tiff
TOLEDO, OHIO: Two children have been killed and another is in critical condition following a shooting at a Toledo apartment complex on Friday, February 5. Toledo police department said in a statement that Kevin Moore was arrested on charges of murder in that shooting. He is currently in custody at the Lucas County Jail.
The shooting happened inside the Byrneport Apartments located near the intersection of Byrne Road and Airport Highway. Moore killed five-year-old Ahmir Phillips and one-year-old Gabriel Phillips, and critically injuring four-year-old Ashton Phillips.

The Police Department wrote in a Facebook post, "The scene at the Byrneport Apartments is clear and a suspect is in custody. Check our social media pages for additional updates. There is an active police scene at the Byrneport Apartments. At this time we can confirm that three children were shot during a domestic dispute. Two are deceased and the third is in critical condition. The suspect is in custody. More information will be forthcoming."
The department further said: "Please pray for these victims, their families, and the first responders who were there tonight. This was truly a sad day for our community." The department later updated, "The four-year-old little boy continues to fight for his life. Initial Update: A child continues to fight for life after a triple shooting at the Byrneport Apartments left two other children dead. The suspect, Kevin Moore, has been arrested by #toledopolice & booked at the Lucas County Jail. Moore is the boyfriend of the children’s mother."
Court documents revealed that Moore has a long criminal history in the state of Florida. In two separate incidents in Florida, Moore pleaded guilty to charges of domestic violence and resisting police officers. In November 2014, he was caught by the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s office on battery domestic violence, false imprisonment, opposing an officer with violence, and battery on a law enforcement officer. After initially pleading not guilty, in December 2015 Moore pleaded guilty to those four charges. He was credited with time served in jail.
Later, in August 2016, Moore was again arrested on domestic battery charges and violently resisting a sheriff of the Temple Terrace Police Department. The charges levied on him included domestic battery by strangulation, tampering with a witness and resisting an officer with violence.
Moore pleaded guilty on the above-listed charges and once again was given credit for time served and ordered to have no contact with his victim.
