Kevin McCarthy slammed as Fox News anchor Sean Hannity reports on former House speaker's willingness to return to position
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy hasn't ruled out running for the position again. The recent violence in the Middle East has underscored Congress's dysfunction per Fox News, and McCarthy stated, “I know what it means to have a strong America and a strong relationship with Israel.”
On Monday, October 9 morning, McCarthy told Hugh Hewitt from ‘Just The News’, “Whatever the conference wants, I will do.”
Following this event, Fox News anchor Sean Hannity took to X (formerly Twitter) to provide more updates on McCarthy’s statements.
However, the internet did not respond positively to the former House Speaker’s statement and took a brutal jibe at him.

Hannity’s tweet featured an article from its official website titled, “MAC COMING BACK? McCarthy Open to Speaker Return, 'Whatever the Conference Wants'.”
In the article, it was reported that when ‘Just The News’ radio host Hugh Hewitt asked McCarthy, “Eight Republicans brought you down. I don’t know if they can change their mind, but I don’t think we’re going to get to a Speaker other than Kevin McCarthy this week. Would you be willing to go back if those eight retreated?”
McCarthy said, “Look, whatever the conference wants, I will do. I think we need to be strong. I think we need to be united. It was a personal thing. It wasn’t about where we were going.”
He continued, “They’re the ones that stopped appropriations bills from going forward. They’re the ones who voted against a continuing resolution that secured our border and cut spending. They’re the ones who wanted a government shutdown.”
To McCarthy’s statement, Hewitt responded, “If we had shut down the government, we would be blamed for the intelligence failure that led to this massacre. We did not shut down the government. We still had an intelligence failure.”
He concluded with the hypothetical, “But if we had, you would be blamed for the intelligence failure.”
However, McCarthy had a bold statement to make, “They thought, ‘Let’s pick politics over the best that’s for America’. I will never back away from my decision. I put America first, and that’s what I’m going to continue to do.”

One person simply called out McCarthy, saying, “I think he has said that before and did not keep his word,” and another wrote, “Nope..we do not want you.”
One more added, “Not strong to say you will not. Then to say you will if the conference says you should. Looks very indecisive.” Another person mocked him, saying, “I think you need to stay out of the Speakership race…”
