Kentucky man kills wife and two minor sons before shooting himself hours after posting about unhappy marriage
MAYFIELD, KENTUCKY: A 41-year-old Kentucky man reportedly killed himself after shooting dead his wife and two minor sons. Kyle Milliken murdered 35-year-old wife Ashley Milliken, 13-year-old Kjae Milliken, and eight-year-old Kycohn Millken on Sunday, December 20. He then turned the gun on himself ending his life too. Hours before the tragedy, Kyle had taken to Facebook to write about his unhappy married life, asserting that "my kids are everything."
The post that was shared seven hours before the bodies were found by Kentucky State Police read, “My kids are my everything, a women can come and go. If she is not happy You can’t make her happy! A lot of the time, she was going to do it anyway, but when u pick someone up and carry them for years and she still betray you, what do you do? There is one person that knows the story behind this journey. Donnie be glad I did find you tonight!!! I have got to say I love my boys with ever ounce of me! Everything I have done in life as a adult has been for them, to have a better life than I’ve had growing up. Then you have this stuff pop up and throw a whole wrench in it!” He also added, “Kyle Milliken Jr. Kycohn Milliken MY EVERYTHING, nothing else really mattered." Milliken had also posted more than 70 photos of his sons with the lengthy caption.
The alleged murder-suicide has left the whole community shocked. The Milliken family’s pastor Chad Lamb with Grace Life Church in Mayfield reacted to the news as he told WPSD-TV, “I'm still in shock. It's just heartbreaking for the community. It's a well-known family — well respected family on both sides of their families that they come from. Our community is just grieving right now." He also stated, “We need to be unified in our relationship with the Lord. We need to love one another. We need to help one another. And we need to understand that we never know what people are going through."
Reports said that an autopsy was done on all the four bodies on Monday, December 21. Meanwhile, friends and relatives of the dead family have expressed their sorrow over the tragedy on social media, but there were some who also showed their anger over the whole incident. One person commented on Kyle’s post by writing, “Prayers going up for both families. I can’t imagine the mental turmoil and hell any of them are experiencing right now; this is freaking devastating, senseless and tragic. May that mama and her babies rest in the peace and glory of the Lord.”
“Prayers for both Families because both Families lost. GOD is the only JUDGE!!!!!” the second user said. “Piece of shit father. And a liar. You didn’t ever love your kids. You haven’t fooled anyone or gotten any sympathy with this disgusting post. Weak ass Coward,” one angry user said while another one added: “‘A woman can come and go’, ‘nothing else really mattered’. So you let her leave and if your kids mattered so much you don't fucking murder them. You made that decision to go from thought to action. If it was that unbearable, take yourself. Defending someone who does this makes you just as terrible.”
