Who is Kelly Slater?

A world-class surfer, author, actor, model, environmental activist, businessman, and innovator, Slater was born in Florida. The son of a bait-store proprietor, he grew up near the water, and began surfing at age five. He turned a professional in 1990 and landed his first win in 1992’s prestigious Pipeline Masters in Hawaii, securing his first world title. At age 20, he was the youngest surfing world champion ever.

Slater has had his fair share of success in music and acting as well. He played the recurring character Jimmy Slade on twenty-seven episodes of 'Baywatch' in the early 1990s. He also plays guitar and ukulele and has performed with Jack Johnson and Angus Stone. Besides, he is also an advocate of a sustainable and clean lifestyle, and a fundraiser and spokesperson for suicide prevention awareness.
