Keanu Reeves praised for not touching women he is photographed with: "He's a true gentleman"
Fans of Keanu Reeves have branded him a 'gentleman' after numerous photographs of actor showed him posing with women without touching them at all.
The eagle-eyed fans spotted the pattern after a Facebook page shared many such pictures which showed the 54-year-old actor posing for photos with different women.
In all the photos, Reeves can be seen posing with his hand awkwardly hovering behind the person he is standing with.
Ever since the habit was noticed, Reeves has been getting a lot of praise from social media users.
The Facebook page titled Unprofessional Madman posted a series of images which show the star posing with many different women on Sunday. The pictures were also shared on Twitter by KemziLinzi.
In every single picture, Reeves is seen awkwardly dangling his hand behind the women rather than placing it on their shoulders, waist, or backs.
Ever since the post was shared on social media, it has received around 8,000 likes and more than 2,000 comments from fans of the actor. Many praised him for his actions with one user calling him "a true gentleman." Another user added, "All the more reason to praise Keanu Reeves."
However, there were also those who were of the opinion that he purposely does not place his hand on other people he takes pictures with to "avoid accusations" of inappropriate behavior.
One user wrote, "He's being smart because he knows he'll be targeted by sexist and feminist people. They'll come up with the stupidest questions like, Oh wow why is he holding her hips?"
"More than anything else, these pictures make me sad. The fact that he has to do this to protect himself shows the state of the morality and reason in the society," another user added.
Some believe that he was probably not placing his hand on the women as he was respecting their space. A user wrote, "I don't think embracing someone asking to take a picture with you is disrespectful, in theory. But choosing to still respect their personal space is smart because it is thoughtful."
In response to this, a woman shared, "That's how I'm reading it too—respecting their personal space. I don't think he's reacting to the Me Too movement. That's just how he is. Plus he's a Virgo so he could slightly germaphobic lol."
