'Arrow' star Katherine McNamara's new boyfriend is 'a real dummy', says 'Shadowhunters' co-star Isaiah Mustafa
Self-isolation really does bring out the quirky side of people. We've all got the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic weighing heavily on our minds but the stars of 'Shadowhunters' have offered a little humor to break the monotony with some hilarious messages shared on Twitter.
Katherine McNamara of 'Shadowhunters' and 'Arrow' fame has been keeping loneliness at bay with a mannequin that she has dubbed "Bob the Quarantine Boyfriend". Over the past couple of weeks, she has posted a number of photos and videos of how she has been spending her time with her new "boyfriend" and now her 'Shadowhunters' co-star Isaiah Mustafa has also weighed in with some hilarious comments.
"Not sure I approve of what's developing with this Bob character," Mustafa wrote in a message he sent to McNamara, which she shared on her Twitter. "Looks like he could be a real dummy."
McNamara replied to the message with her own dad joke writing, "Oh Papa Wolf, don't worry, he's (h)armless! Just a real good listener... the strong silent type. Love you so much!"
So far, McNamara has shared posts about her and Bob doing all sorts of stuff including building a treadmill and watching Netflix. She even "introduced" him to Stephen Amell, who plays her character's father on 'Arrow', and unlike Mustafa, Amell approved of the match.
One fan replied to the post suggesting that maybe Mustafa should meet "Bob" through Instagram live as Amell did. "One father telling you he approves, the other doesn't," they wrote. "Maybe Isaiah should meet him through live?"
"Papa hood approves but papa wolf doesn’t," another fan commented. "Poor Bob!"
In 'Shadowhunters', Mustafa plays Luke Garroway, a werewolf and father figure to McNamara's character Clary Fray. The show, which was based on the hit young adult fantasy novel series 'The Mortal Instruments' by Cassandra Clare, has a dedicated fan following and aired its final episode on May 6, 2019.
Clearly, fans still miss the show despite it being almost a year since it concluded. One fan, in particular, replied to McNamara's post writing, "I miss y’all cracking dad jokes together."
"I miss y’all so MUCH," another fan tweeted.
McNamara is expected to return to the Arrowverse for an 'Arrow' spin-off show titled 'Green Arrow & The Canaries', which is yet to be officially greenlit. A backdoor pilot for the show aired as part of the final season of 'Arrow' and generated a lot of positive responses, so we are pretty hopeful that the project will move forward, though it might take a while considering The CW has halted production across the board at the moment in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
