Kate Middleton is breaking out of her prim and proper wardrobe for an 'edgier look' in her stylish summer looks

The elegant royal mommy is bound by a long list of royal style rules which prohibit any cleavage, knee-length skirts, or colorful nail polish

Kate Middleton has been rocking a sexy summer wardrobe of late. It looks like the Duchess of Cambridge has added some bold splashes of color and flirty summer dresses to her prim and proper wardrobe, according to an Inquisitr report.

The elegant royal mommy is bound by a long list of royal style rules which prohibits any cleavage, knee-length skirts, or colorful nail polish. But her style team is reportedly working to give Kate an "edgier look" despite the stringent royal protocol. According to Cosmopolitan, they have managed to do it without ruffling the Queen's feathers.

In her latest appearance at Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's son Archie's christening, she stunned royal observers donning a fresh salmon pink Stella McCartney dress coupled with a red satin braided headband and matching suede high heels.

The Duchess also had onlookers do a double-take at her Wimbledon appearance on July 2, when she cheered for the players while sporting a crisp short-sleeved white dress with black buttons held by a black bow belt by Alexander McQueen. She completed the look with a matching black bow brooch on her lapel.

Furthermore, Kate attended the RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show wearing a Sandro Paris dress with a plunging neckline and beige espadrilles, emanating a young Mother Nature vibe as she sat with school children.

In June, Kate attended the Royal Ascot horse race rocking a stunning cornflower blue Elie Saab dress with sheer sleeves and matched it with a chic floral hat by Philip Treacy. To add some more flair, she wore blue topaz and diamond drop earrings by Kiki McDonough.

According to People, the Duchess has been working with her stylist Natasha Archer to add a little more edge to her attire. "Kate felt like she was in a bit of a style rut and thought she needed a little edge," a source told the outlet.
