NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Kari Lake, who aligned herself with Donald Trump and ran an unsuccessful campaign for Arizona governor in 2022, is set to announce her candidacy for the Republican nomination for the US Senate on October 10, as per The Wall Street Journal.

This upcoming Arizona Senate race, where Senator Kyrsten Sinema is expected to run for reelection, has the potential to be a pivotal contest that could impact which party controls the Senate post.

Lake, who narrowly missed winning the governor's race, has followed in Trump's footsteps by refusing to accept the legitimacy of her defeat.

Following this news, Fox News anchor Sean Hannity took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to share Lake announcing her bid for the nomination.

However, the internet wasn’t pleased to hear the former gubernatorial candidate seeking candidacy for the US Senate elections and brutally blasted her.

Fox News anchor Sean Hannity took to X as he quoted Lake. The tweet read, “LAKE: “We need to get a Senator in there who is going to fight back and put America first."

Hannity’s tweet featured an article from his official website titled, “KARI'S COMEBACK: Lake to Announce Senate Run Next Month; Report.”

In the article, as per The Wall Street Journal, former gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake will announce her campaign for the US Senate on October 10.

She will be expected to compete with independent candidate Krysten Sinema and Democrat Ruben Gallego.

In an interview, Lake said, “We need to get a Senator in there who is going to fight back and put America first.”

Also, supporting her is Senator Steve Daines, chair of the NRSC, adding, “She is a talented campaigner with an impressive ability to fire up the grassroots.”

Lake has been actively involved in various political activities, as per the source outlet. She has reportedly traveled across the country to raise funds for her legal challenges, conducted a book tour, and served as an official surrogate for Trump's presidential campaign.

She also reportedly engaged in campaign efforts like door-knocking in Iowa and participating as a surrogate in a Republican debate.

While there have been discussions about Lake potentially being considered as a running mate for Trump, she has not confirmed her stance on this matter.

Lake, known for her popularity within the Republican base, is expected to secure the GOP nomination for the Senate race in Arizona.

Her campaign team is already looking ahead to the general election. Although Pinal County Sheriff Mark Lamb is also running, he has faced challenges in gaining significant support.
