'Kandi & The Gang': OLG staff struggles to adjust with new director of operations
Working at a restaurant is high-intensity work. It requires a smooth workflow, communication and accountability from the front and the back of the house. Without teamwork, the whole operation falls apart. Kandi Burruss's OLG restaurant, once a hustling and bustling eatery, seems to have lost its spark after losing its general manager. However, Kandi and Todd are now as determined as ever to breathe life back into the place with their new series, 'Kandi & The Gang'.
If you're looking for other reality series to check out, you might want to consider -- 'Doubling Down With the Derricos', '1000-lb Best Friends', 'Married At First Sight' and 'Joe Millionaire: For Richer and Poorer'.

With the multiple issues at OLG, Kandi and Todd knew that it was time to breathe life back into their once highly successful restaurant. Luckily, they both believe that they have the solution to their problems -- in the form of Phillip Frempong. Philip, the director at their other restaurant, Blaze, comes with years of experience under his belt. Seeing that he's ensured smooth sailing at other restaurants previously, Kandi and Tdd both hoped he could do the same for OLG.
This would also take the pressure off DonJuan, Kandi's right-hand man and the GM at Kandi Koated Entertainment. However, not everyone seems to have taken to Phillip's welcome, as he was all business right from the get-go. OLG's hostess Shawndreca Robinson seemed to clash with him right from the start, as she felt he was throwing his weight around.
On the other hand, Phillip made it clear that he was here as her boss and that she was expected to listen to what he had to say while at OLG. Shawndreca was having none of it and Phillip, tired of her bad attitude, asked her to leave the restaurant just minutes before the reopening. It certainly seemed like cause for concern, but he believed it was the right move for Todd.
Meanwhile, on the other hand, Kandi was focused on hearing what her aunts and mother had to say about their vision for OLG. Shawndreca seems to have dealt with the brunt of it, seeing that very few people had good things to say about her. However, for Kandi, she prioritised the people who've been there from the start, as she values their loyalty. It was also one of the primary reasons she and Todd decided to throw a get-together for all the old and new OLG staff to celebrate their journey so far.
Kandi used this opportunity to hire back some old staff, such as Brian Redmond, and even asked Shardo Roles, her host at Blaze, to help out at the restaurant. Unfortunately, while everyone was excited to be a part of the family again, it looks like Phillip was stuck with the arduous task of getting them to work together, which certainly didn't go according to plan.
The next day, the restaurant service proved to be the ultimate challenge -- Shardo disagreed with Shawndreca's way of working, the restaurant lost electricity and Brandon and Dom’Unique's flirting kept getting in the way of work. One thing is for sure; it looks like OLG has its hands full!
'Kandi & the Gang' airs on Bravo on March 6 at 9/8c.
