The city of Louisville, Kentucky is in a state of emergency after Kentucky's attorney general ruled that the officers who fired into the apartment of Breonna Taylor, a Black medical worker, will not be prosecuted for her death. Attorney General Daniel Cameron announced the Louisville grand jury's decision at a news conference amid massive protests and riots on the streets.

The peaceful protests soon turned violent and as per recent updates, two officers were shot on Wednesday, September 23 night, Interim Police Chief Robert Schroeder told reporters. As per a CNN report, Schroeder said police were responding to reports of gunfire and the two officers suffered non-life-threatening wounds.

Amid all the ruckus, Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden and Kamala Harris took to Twitter to express their thoughts on Breonna Taylor's death. "We must continue to speak Breonna Taylor’s name, support her family still in grieving, and never give up on ensuring the full promise of America for every American," Biden tweeted. Meanwhile, Harris said we must never stop speaking her name. "Tonight, I’m thinking of Breonna Taylor’s family who is still grieving the loss of a daughter and sister. We must never stop speaking Breonna’s name as we work to reform our justice system, including overhauling no-knock warrants," she tweeted. Her post soon garnered much attention on social media and collected over 3,000 retweets and 12,000 likes.

However, many people on the Internet soon targetted her. "What about the Louisville police officers shot tonight Kamala?? Are you “proud” of this one too???" one tweet read and another said, "The police did not execute a no-knock warrant. But cops are being shot in the streets, Kamala. You were a cop once! We must stop this violence and end the anarchy. It must end now." One even went on to say: "Please stop lying Kamala. The police knocked & her drug dealer boyfriend opened fire at police & the police shot back. This has nothing to do with racism. Stop trying to rip this nation apart with your lies. You are not going to succeed in destroying this country."

One Twitter user said, "Yea, well you need to think about the officers getting shot right now because of your hateful rhetoric," and another posted, "Please have a plan for the day after the election when Trump refuses to leave or steals the election in some way. I need all this nonsense to change, I’m sick of this." One tweet read: "It's been made official by witnesses that the officers knocked and announced their presence... That is probably what gave Breonna Taylors drug dealer boyfriend time to grab his gun and fire. I would argue that had officers instead issued a no-knock warrant she would be alive."

The recent incident where two police officers were shot seems to have changed everything.
