Joe Biden’s VP pick Kamala Harris has called President Donald Trump for his “interest” in the birthplace of former President Barack Obama and listed his “racist” actions in CBS’ ‘60 Minutes’.  

In the interview which is a part of the October 25 episode, Harris doesn't hesitate to call Trump a “racist”. When the anchor Norah O’Donnell asks the senator if she thinks “the president is racist”, Harris was quick to say “Yes, I do”.

Harris, who is laughing while responding, says, "You can look at a pattern that goes back to him questioning the identity of the first Black president of the United States.” She added, “You can look at Charlottesville, when there were peaceful protesters, And on the other side, neo-Nazis and he talks about fine people on either side.”

Harris also points out that Trump has called “Mexicans rapists and criminals.” She says, “His first order of business was to institute a Muslim ban. It all speaks for itself.”

The above statements by Harris have met with criticism on social media as people are dragging her for allegedly calling Biden a racist from earlier. When Biden first announced that he had chosen Harris as his VP pick, Trump had expressed that he was surprised by Biden’s choice citing that she had called the Democratic presidential nominee “essentially racist” during their primary debates.

People on Twitter took to the platform to slam Harris for calling Trump a “racist” while reminding her of the alleged racist remarks she had made against Biden before she was chosen as his running mate. One tweeted, "HARRIS CLAIMED BIDEN WAS RACIST NOW TRUMP. I THINK POOR BIDEN'S MIND IS FAILING AND NOW HAVING HER AS A RUNNING MATE. HE REALLY NEEDS HIS MIND CHECKED" While another added, "REALLY Kamala Harris said that @POTUS #TRUMP is a racist, but she said the same thing a/b Biden until he made her his VP. Her values can be bought, but then again so can Biden, a perfect match #MAGA don’t vote for thieves". One tweeted, "@60Minutes asks Harris if she thinks Trump is a racist and doesn't bother to ask if she still thinks Biden is a racist, like she alleged in the Dems debate."

Meanwhile, a few have called out the interview for asking Harris only about Trump's "racist" actions, without following up on her allegedly similar remarks about Biden. One Twitter user noted, "Didn't Harris call Biden a "racist " in the primary? What changed and why didn't they follow that up after asking her the same of Trump?" and "Asks Harris "do you think Trump's a racist " without following up with why she called Biden one in the primary." Adding to these tweets another user wrote, "Why is it okay for Harris to call President Trump a racist yet no one questioned her about calling Biden a racist?"
