Jude Law just dropped a major hint about 'Sherlock Holmes 3' plotline!

Jude Law has gone ahead and stirred up the hot pot which has been brewing for a while now. In that, he has teased the pot of the much anticipated third Sherlock Holmes movie. Reprising his role as the iconic Dr. Watson in the franchise, Law is finally reuniting with Robert Downey Jr - who plays the titular role - after seven years since their last installment of 'Sherlock Holmes: Game of Shadows.'

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Law spilled all the juicy details about his phenomenal characters in upcoming movies, such as a young Albus Dumbledore in Fantastic Beasts' sequel and also his role in 'Captain Marvel.' But speaking about the Sherlock Holmes project, he was quite cheeky with the number of facts he allowed to divulge.

“We hope to propel the story forward,” Law shared with the outlet. “As always, the essence of the story is their codependency. We’re going to examine — since it’s been several years since we’ve seen them — we’re going to play up the fact that they haven’t seen each other for a long time either,” he added.

So far it seems like a nice little reunion after Holmes and Watson's apparent break from each other - which was sadly extended beyond a limit fans could endure. But hey - the keyword here is reunion so it wouldn't be entirely foolish for fans to expect a rather power-packed adventure from their favorite private investigator and his diligent sidekick.

But Law isn't the only one who has been teasing the upcoming third installment of the detective thriller though. Recently - well, just last week - the man himself, aka Downey Jr, took to Twitter to express his own excitement about the film. And he did it in classic Downey Jr style - with a teasing gif of him ' practicing his Sherlock face,' that has since then had fans buzzing!

While fans and followers of the franchise are still doubtful about Guy Ritchie's reprising as the director, what is very much out there is that Ritchie has been busy with another prospective superhit, that is Disney's live-action 'Alladin,' that is currently in post-production.

There's still no word on the official title of the third movie either, leaving it up for speculation among the fans and just furthering the amount of teasing they are having to deal with. But soon it will all be out as the movie is slated to premiere around Christmas, 2020.
