Burglar assaults NY woman after giving her three choices: get killed, get raped or have sex with her own son
The police said on September 20 that a burglar raped a woman after giving her the sick options of being sexually assaulted, murdered or having sex with her son.
Joshua Henderson, 33, posed as a construction worker to break into the victim's apartment in New York City on September 16.
According to reports, he wore a high-viz vest to gain entry pretending that he was going to the roof for repairs.
The man then broke into the woman's apartment in the Queen's borough at 6 pm, through the window. He then tied up the woman and her adult son by convincing them that he had a gun before raiding the house for jewellery and cash.
Following this, Henderson presented the woman with a sickening ultimatum - he told the terrified woman he could rape her, smother her with a pillow or she could have sex with her 25-year-old son.
She agreed to let the man rape him and Henderson reportedly tied her son in the bathroom before returning to attack the woman. In an attempt to destroy the DNA evidence, he sprayed her with soapy water.
CCTV footage showed Henderson wearing construction attire leaving the building. The victim is said to have picked him out of a police line-up.
This is not the first for Henderson - he has multiple burglary convictions and is now being investigated for a number of unsolved rape cases, sources said. It was on September 19 that he was arrested and was being held without bail charged with rape, robbery, and other charges.
Henderson's wife insisted that DNA evidence would prove her husband's innocence. "He's a loving, caring man. He'd give you his last. The DNA is going to prove he didn't do this. I'm telling you the DNA is going to prove he didn't do anything," she said.
