Joseph David-Jones has been a popular figure with 'Arrow' fans for quite some time and his performance as Connor Hawke, the adopted son of John Diggle (David Ramsey), in the show's season 7 flash-forward sequences to the year 2040 has only made him even more beloved.

In an interview with MEA WorldWide (MEAWW), David-Jones gave us some exciting teasers about Connor's journey in season 8, his relationship with Mia Smoak (Katherine McNamara), and the upcoming crossover 'Crisis on Infinite Earths'.

"I can't give too much away about 'Crisis,'" he said. "Only to say that after it happens, everything is going to change. I mean obviously, you know Arrow's coming to an end, but it's going to affect everything. The whole world of the Arrowverse is going to change because of what it is. I just know that it's going to be nuts, man. Just amazing."

Connor's relationship with Mia played a huge role in making last season's flash-forwards to 2040 a fun watch. In the coming season, David-Jones teased that we'll be seeing that relationship explored further and he didn't rule out the chances of a romance between the two when we quizzed him about it.

"I'd say there's a chance, just out of last season, but they're not gonna make it easy," he laughed. "They're not gonna make it easy for the fans at all. We start off and it's like a love-hate thing, you know. There is... not conflict but there is some trouble with things when we kick-off and they're still trying to figure this whole thing out, navigate being heroes now tasked with protecting the city on their own. And they don't know how to do that."

"So it's them trying to figure out who should take the lead, what they should do, how they should work together as a team. And Mia just, in general, doesn't like to work as a team. So there's a lot of conflict between them but there's still a lot of love there, a lot of history. So I think we'll see a difficult balance because Connor really does care about her and vice versa," he added.

The first time David-Jones played Connor Hawke in the Arrowverse was on 'DC's Legends of Tomorrow' in an alternate future world where he was John Diggle Jr, taking up the name Connor Hawke and the mantle of the Green Arrow after his father died and Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) went missing in action. The actor revealed he wasn't told much about his role on 'Arrow' beside the fact that this would be a totally new version of Connor.

"Honestly, they were pretty vague about it," David-Jones explained. "And I think it was because they were still trying to figure out what they wanted me to be. So then, when they initially reached out about reprising the role, they said that it would be in a different timeline but some of the details weren't really given. So it was like trying to find out who I was, basically, I guess the same time that they were writing it and they were trying to figure it out as well."

"But the idea is that in this timeline Kat or Mia was the daughter of the Green Arrow and that Connor was tasked with looking out for her, protecting her, making sure no one came after her or nothing happens to her. That was the gist of what I got in the beginning when they told me that I would no longer be JJ like I was in that timeline and that I would be, you know, this new person, Diggle's adopted son," he added.

"So those are the two things that I got. Those are the two nuggets that I got when they were initially like asking or trying to see if I could come back and do this thing. I mean I was here and I figured out my relationship with JJ and who I was and my role as part of the team and how I kind of fit into this future Team Arrow. But, as I said, 'Crisis' is coming so we'll see how the dynamic of everything changes after that."

'Arrow' Season 8 will begin airing on The CW October 15.
