DAVIDSON COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA: Newly revealed photos show the outbuilding where a 13-year-old girl was reportedly kept after being abducted by a 34-year-old man. As per reports, the unidentified teen from Dallas, Texas, got in touch with Jorge Camacho online, who allegedly kidnapped her and locked her up in a shed in Davidson County, North Carolina. He also allegedly carried out several sex crimes against her.

Davidson County Sheriff Richie Simmons said that the accused talked to the schoolgirl via “social media chat platforms,” and “the content of the chat was consistent with grooming and enticement, and he enticed her to leave the home where he picked her up in the [Dallas] area,” The Sun reported. The girl was found in Southmont after cops learned the suspect’s location. Images of the shed can be seen here.

‘This is how kids are sold into human trafficking’

The outbuilding from where the victim was rescued had a mattress and a TV along with some more furniture. After being saved, she was sent to the hospital for a check-up before she went home. The Sheriff noted, “I thank God we were able to find this young girl. This is just the tip of the iceberg, we feel, so we’re still investigating this as well,” before mentioning, “This is how kids are sold into human trafficking. They're not being able to be kids.”

He added, “What we are teaching our kids and our homes, it scares me. It scares me even more so that we have to have classes to teach our kids to be careful with social media. Our message is going to be, please help us out. I'm very thankful. I thank God that we were able to find this young girl. It may not be that case forever, and what these children must go through, they don't think, who they're talking to.”

The owner of the shed, Trop Sim, also spoke up after the incident. Calling Camacho her son’s friend, she reportedly stated, “He live with me two years, he don’t show that he was that kind of person, so I don’t know why he do that.” Sim also told Fox 4 News, “I just took him in. Helped him out. I’m not involved with whatever he’s doing because I didn’t know he was that kind of person.”

Alleged predator facing multiple charges

Camacho has now been slapped with numerous charges, which include a child abduction felony, felonious restraint of a child, human trafficking felony, two counts of statutory rape of a child under 15 felony, two counts of statutory sexual offense with a child under 15, and indecent liberties with a child. He’s currently behind bars at the Davidson County Jail and his bond has been set at $1,250,000. If found guilty, he is expected to be sentenced to life without parole.

‘It could have been even worse’

Meanwhile, Bianca Davis, CEO of New Friends New Life, a non-profit that works to restore sexually exploited teen girls and more, reportedly shared, “Traffickers really prey on the everyday needs of teens and places where teens hang out. And a lot of times, that’s online. The average age that a girl is trafficked here in the United States is 15 years old.”

Davis added, “Although it’s alarming, we are not surprised because this is how trafficking happens in our community. It still could have been even worse even though that’s hard to imagine. She could’ve gone missing for a long time or could’ve been killed.”
