Jonathan Perryman: Public urged to dial 911 as Arizona inmate remains at large after escaping work crew
SAN LUIS, ARIZONA: Police are asking the public to phone 911 if they spot a convict named Jonathan Perryman from an Arizona state prison who got away from a "work crew" on Monday, March 13. The Arizona Department of Corrections stated that Perryman was last seen entering a restroom while working at a recreation center in San Luis.

Somerton Police Department stated that Perryman was last seen on the 400 block of West Cano Street around 3.30 pm wearing a grey hoodie and black pants. The department informed the US Marshals Office, US Customs & Border Protection, and all regional law enforcement agencies. The public is urged to exercise caution and refrain from approaching Perryman. Anyone who notices anything unusual is urged to dial 911.

San Luis AZ Police Department stated, "Other law enforcement agencies are in the area assisting the Somerton Police Department as the search for inmate continues. We encourage all community members to contact the police department if they spot the subject."
A press release from the Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation and Reentry (ADCRR) stated, "Perryman, a minimum custody work crew member, was working at a recreation center in San Luis and was last seen walking into a restroom to wash paint off his hands by a work crew checker and a City of San Luis civilian supervisor."
What was Jonathan Perryman charged with?
The Department of Corrections reports that on November 16, 2022, Perryman was sentenced for misconduct involving the use of a weapon outside of Maricopa County. He has never been convicted of a violent offense and has no history of violent conduct. His expected release date was in June 2026.
The San Luis Police Department claims that nearby schools were placed on lockdown as a precaution, and at around 5.38 pm, all were safely discharged without incident. Perryman is thought to have left Somerton, and the Arizona Department of Corrections is still looking into the matter.
'He's probably eating tacos in San Luis'
Many have speculated about Perryman's hypothetical whereabouts on Facebook as he remains at large. One person wrote, "He's probably eating tacos in San Luis in asadero los campas." This other person wrote, "He's from Yuma. His wife probably picked him up."
Another person from the same area wrote, "Might he be in the foothills?? He’s probably trying to head back to Maricopa County. Cause I saw 2 undercover police trucks going fast one with lights and sirens and the other one without in the foothills. One was a grey Silverado and the other one was an f150 and behind them was a border patrol Silverado."
Even on Twitter, many people have expressed their opinions over Perrman's prison escape. One person wrote, "Let him drink the tap water there... he won't last two days." Another person wrote, "He’ll be hard to spot." A third person wrote, "Honestly, I wish him luck." This other person wrote, "Can't be too dangerous on work release, bet he's sorry he got that tatoo on his neck though."
