As we are reaching closer to the election day, November 3, 2020, Twitter is becoming a battleground between the political parties, and Hollywood is not behind in pointing out, what they think is, 'not right'. On September 6, actor Jon Cryer tweeted, "Rep. @mattgaetz invited a white supremacist to the State of the Union, attempted to intimidate a federal witness, and endorsed a sociopathic bigot who applauded the deaths of migrants for congress. I just donated to his opponent @PhilEhr," Cryer tweeted on September 6. He was referring to Trump's army veteran controversy where he disparaged the fallen soldiers and slammed Gaetz for supporting him.

Following this, US representative for Florida's 1st congressional district Matt Gaetz reverted back, saying, "Charlie Sheen totally carried two and a half men," referring to Sheen and Cryer's feud.

Soon, Cryer replied to his Charlie Sheen comment and said, "Is that why, after he left, it lasted for 4 more years and I won an Emmy for Best Actor in a Comedy?" To this, Gaetz boasted, saying, "What’s an Emmy? An award Hollywood gives itself? I win elections."

In 2011, Charlie Sheen was fired from the top-rated show, 'Two and a Half Men' because of his “dangerously self-destructive conduct,” according to a letter from Warner Bros Television attorneys at the time. After Sheen made a number of derogatory remarks aimed at the show's network, CBS, the show's creator, Chuck Lorre, and Cryer himself, who he called a 'turncoat' and a traitor' for not coming to his defense publicly. After he was fired, Ashton Kutcher played his role for the final four seasons.

Cryer who played the character of Alan Harper in the show opened up about working with Sheen and his impact on the show and cast. In an interview with PeopleTV, he said, "It was one of the first internet storms, plus there's the fact that all of our jobs are tied into this guy, and we're all his friends. It was very, very strange and [there were] aspects of it that I absolutely hated, but you know, I'm thankful for the years that were great." In a 2012 interview, Sheen told E! News, "Jon has not called me." "He's a turncoat, a traitor, a troll. Clearly he's a troll. He issued a statement. Is it gonna take me calling him a 'traitor, juvenile and scared' for him to get it?" he added.

As soon as Gaetz replied with Sheen's reference, Internet started reacting to it, as one user commented, "The show was unwatchable after Sheen left...are you sure this is the direction you want to take this discussion?"

Some slammed Gaetz in his post, saying, "Matt Gaetz also was the only vote against Human Trafficking... Has a serious drinking problem, and let's not forget "Nestor" and that entire debacle. Love the family values from the fake patriots."

Another user slammed him and said, "You would like the guy who’s known for being an addict and a drunk. It’s shocking to me YOU represent anybody. It helps to have a daddy to bail you out constantly it seems."

And some questioned Gaetz saying "Seriously Matt, this is what's wrong with republicans, MORE than 187,000 are dead, the economy is in the toilet, there is a pandemic and THIS IS WHAT YOU CHOOSE TO FOCUS ON? WOW."

Some people replied to Cryer's status applauding him for calling out Gaetz and said, "It is so refreshing to see someone like Jon Cryer call out one of the dirtiest, most disrespectful, dishonest members of congress out. He is truly unfit for office and needs to be held accountable for his crimes no one is above the law..."

Another one said, "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.”― Edmund Burke Thank you, Jon, for wanting to make a difference for the good."
