JonBenet Ramsey death: Slain beauty queen's dad John reveals stranger stayed in daughter's room before murder
COLORADO, BOULDER: John Ramsey, 79, the father of murdered beauty queen JonBenet, recently revealed that a stranger stayed in his daughter's room before her murder in an exclusive interview with The US Sun. He revealed that he was alerted of the apparent intruder by one of the family's housekeepers months after the six-year-old was found murdered.
JonBeńet was found strangled to death in the basement of her family home in Boulder, Colorado, where the Ramsey family lived at the time. They had a holiday home in Michigan where they'd often go together in the summer.
In the summer of 1996, one of the Ramseys' housekeepers had gone into the home to clean and make it ready for the family when they arrived.

The housekeeper told John that she allegedly saw a suitcase and other things, which looked like they belonged to an adult male, neatly laid out in JonBenet's bedroom. The person wasn't inside the home at the time and the housekeeper didn't think much of the finding, believing the family had likely let a friend stay at the often-vacant property, John said.
"She told us, 'When I came to clean and freshen up your house there was somebody who was staying in JonBenet's room but he wasn't there,'" said John, adding, "The person wasn't there. But he had a suitcase. Everything was really neatly arranged."
"[The housekeeper] said, 'I didn't say anything about it because I thought you must've let one of your friends come to stay here', "which we didn't," John added. "And why would he stay in JonBenet's room?" John asked.
"If you're just camping out in our house that would've been the last room you'd have stayed in. There's a room on the ground floor, so if you had to leave fast you could get out but to stay in JonBenet’s room would have been the last room I would have picked if I was not supposed to be there," John said, adding that he reported the housekeeper's account to police but he doesn't believe investigators ever looked into the matter seriously.
The US Sun reportedly approached The Boulder PD but they declined to make any comments citing an active and ongoing investigation.
John just turned 79 in December 2022. He is now worried that he's running out of time to get answers about who killed his daughter JonBenet. He is once again fighting to have the case removed from the jurisdiction of Boulder PD. He wants fresh eyes to take a look over the case and better resources applied to the investigation before he runs out of time.
John also appealed to the Governor of Colorado Jared Polis recently to instruct BPD to release any DNA evidence that they have to give to a state-of-the-art genealogy lab.
