Johnny Depp t-shirt goes VIRAL, but all everyone wants to know is 'WHERE CAN I GET ONE!'
It's no secret that the Johnny Depp-Amber Heard trial has produced a ton of viral moments, fan theories, and parodies that viewers are cashing in on. In fact, the memes have inspired a thriving souvenir industry online. Now, a t-shirt commemorating Depp's witty remarks during the trial is making waves online, with many demanding to know where they can get one.
Last month, a Virginia-based jury ruled overwhelmingly in Depp's favor and awarded him more than $10 million in damages after deciding that Heard defamed him in a 2018 Washington Post op-ed about becoming a "public figure representing domestic abuse." While she did not mention Depp in the essay, his lawyers argued that the implications were obvious and damaged their client's career. The seven-member jury also awarded Heard $2 million in compensatory damages on one of her three defamation counterclaims.

It didn't take long for the t-shirt to go viral, with many demanding to know where they can get their hands on one.
"You need to share the link where you got that shirt..." one tweeted in response.
"Where did you get this t-shirt I want one lol," another asked.

Responding to the wave of inquiries, the Twitter user obliged Depp fans with an Etsy link to buy the merchandise. "Look what I found on Etsy!" she wrote.

Viral moments from the highly publicized defamation trial inspired several creators to make themed souvenirs -- largely in support of Depp -- thereby contributing to a thriving cottage industry on craft seller platforms like Etsy. A search of the term "Johnny Depp trial" on the website brings up thousands of results -- offering everything from sloganed sweatshirts, to wine glasses, coffee cups, and art prints.
Newsweek reported how one seller was offering a "HearSay Tavern Shirt," referring to one viral moment from the courtroom when Depp was interrupted multiple times on the grounds of hearsay. Another creator sold a shirt quoting Depp that read, "Isn't Happy Hour Anytime?" Several other sellers capitalized on the phrase "mega pint of wine" which went viral during the proceedings. Various forms of merch -- including badges, birthday cards, stickers, and more -- are available for sale on the website.
Heard, 36, responded to the apparent "meme-ification" of her defamation case against Depp, 59, on social media during a recent interview with NBC’s Savannah Guthrie. “I don’t care what one thinks about me or what judgments you want to make about what happened in the privacy of my own home, in my marriage, behind closed doors," the actress told the host. “I don’t presume the average person should know those things. And so I don’t take it personally, but even if you think that I’m lying, you still couldn’t look me in the eye and tell me that you think on social media there’s been a fair representation," she added.
